All This Because Of A Peace T-Shirt

The next time Sarah Palin or one of her defenders complains about how her family is being treated, note the Free Republic website and the things it publishes about Barack Obama’s children.

“A typical street whore.” “A bunch of ghetto thugs.” “Ghetto street trash.” “Wonder when she will get her first abortion.”

These are a small selection of some of the racially-charged comments posted to the conservative ‘Free Republic’ blog Thursday, aimed at U.S. President Barack Obama’s 11-year-old daughter Malia after she was photographed wearing a t-shirt with a peace sign on the front.

The thread was accompanied by a photo of Michelle Obama speaking to Malia that featured the caption, “To entertain her daughter, Michelle Obama loves to make monkey sounds.”

The thread was removed and then reinstated, attracting even more slurs.

“This disgusting display makes me more and more eager for the revolution,” while another read, “I never actually wnated [sic] to be a pistol before but…”

The site’s owner only added fuel to the fire in response to one of the few complaints he received.

“The writer has a point,” wrote site owner Jim Robinson sarcastically. “We should steer clear of Obama’s children. They can’t help it if their old man is an American-hating Marxist pig.”

Here’s a screen capture of some of the comments.  And add to this some of the comments on a fan site of the conservative radio host Mark Levin,  as mentioned by Frank Rich in Sunday’s Times.

“Bottomline, do you know of any way we can remove these idiots before this country goes down the crapper?” wrote one Levin fan. “I WILL HELP!!! Should I buy a gun?” Another called for a new American revolution, promising “there will be blood.”

This is what passes in 2009 America as the “loyal opposition.”
