A Heartfelt Thank You

It’s not often, if ever, in my business, that someone gets to have a hit television show.  In my case, it lasted for 12 years, which is rarer still.  I’m proud to say that we’re ending as the number one show in our time slot on cable news, number two overall, and with our best numbers having been posted this past year.  My gratitude goes to the  management at FOX, who took a big chance on me when they launched the channel in 1996,  In particular, my thanks belong to the late, legendary Chet Collier, who was willing to roll the dice on a relative unknown and, of course,  to Roger Ailes who had much at stake in that risk, and who has supported my efforts all along the way.

But two more ingredients had to be present for what Roger and Chet created to have taken off.  One of them is Sean Hannity.  His amazing dedication and work ethic, his finely tuned broadcasting instincts, and his ability to connect with the audience are hugely responsible for the success of Hannity and Colmes.  The other ingredient is the key:  the audience.  The audience came back night after night, in greater and greater numbers, enabling us to ride the wave of cable news from October 7, 1996 until now.

So, to Chet, to Roger, to Sean, to our programming executives  Bill Shine and Suzanne Scott,  to our producers and crew, and especially to the viewers of Hannity and Colmes, a very heartfelt thank you for providing me with such a wonderful platform for such a great run.
