A Joke Is Only Funny When A Conservative Tells It

Don Fowler, former head of the Democratic Party, told a private joke about how the hurricane hitting New Orleans around the start of the RNC proves “God is on our side”.  Obvous gallows humor, known to anyone who’s ever told a joke.  Unbeknown to Fowler, he was being secretly recorded, and decided to apologize for doing the same thing James Dobson did.  In fact, Dobson did something more pronounced by putting out a public video hoping for torrential downpours during the DNC,  that he later removed from his website.

Fowler was secretly recorded by the person sitting behind him while flying from Denver, Colo., to Charlotte, N.C., following the Democratic National Convention. His conversation with Rep. John Spratt, D-S.C., was anonymously posted to YouTube and highlighted by RedState.com, a conservative blog.

So now Fowler is saying,

“If this offended anybody, I personally apologize,” Fowler told ABC News. “It was a mistake, and it was a satirical statement made in jest. And one that I clearly don’t believe.”

So, when Dobson does a Pray For Rain at the DNC Video for public consumption, that’s hilarious, but when Fowler tells the same kind of private joke he has to apologize.
