American Justice?
Bilal Hussein was working as a photographer in a war zone when he was detained by US marines on April 12, 2006 in Ramadi. His work won a Pulitzer Prize for photography just a year before, in 2005. But the US military accused him of being linked to insurgents without filing any specific charges, and held him for two years. Now he’s been released.
No charges. No trial. Just two years of an innocent man’s life locked up in a prison. We should be very proud.
