Trump, Bannon try to change the story: journos are leaking traitors

Posted by | February 15, 2017 09:54 | Filed under: Media/Show Business News Behaving Badly Politics

Donald Trump had a Twitter tantrum over a blockbuster NY Times exposé overnight – but it is calculated to deflect from what is shaping up to be one of the biggest government and political scandals in the nation’s history:

Translation: “I am desperate to delegitimize journalists and the organizations for which they work.”

Translation: “Forget the scandal of my campaign being in constant contact with Russian intelligence apparatchiks and Putin’s operators. Look at the awful whistlebl… er, leaks! They’re BAD!”

Meanwhile, Sydney Ember, the Times’s media analyst, uses a “fair and balanced” frame in a new piece on how new vs. old media is covering Flynnghazi – but brings President Bannon’s Breitbart News into the mix in a big way:

It is not unusual for news media to promote different story angles. And the division between left-leaning and right-leaning news organizations is certainly not new. But the rift between the mainstream media and more partisan news organizations has grown starker in the nearly four weeks since Mr. Trump took office, reflecting a widening political and ideological rift. …

Americans who get their information predominantly from Breitbart News, a right-wing news and opinion site, for instance, or from the conservative Fox News are getting a very different version of the news from Americans who read The Washington Post or watch CNN. …

“Democrats are clamoring for a deeper investigation of Russian ties to Trump,” the article said. “But the more serious question is whether our nation’s intelligence services were involved in what amounts to political espionage against the newly elected government.”

That’s the gambit: make victims of hard-right propaganda believe journalists into seditionist spies when in fact the tag applies qoute aptly to Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, Carter Page, and Roger Stone.

‘Nuff said.

So called “leaks” develop when the media arm of the administration fails in it’s duty to be transparent. Eight years of President Obama and not one single scandal. This clown and his gaggle of Putin puppets couldn’t even make it one month. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/1910e33b1065a3c5533e794ba15fd65eef73c0bf989f9c455c49d5b9a1f82d31.jpg

When the DNC emails came out, these bastards said that the American people deserved to know. If the information was accurate, then what was the problem.

So hoist on your own petard, slimey traitors..

When I see Bannon, I think of Otis, the town drunk of Mayberry. Does he have his own key the let him sneak into a basement room to sober up?

The media is culpable only in how they allowed the propagandists to take a strangle hold on the flow information. They refused to call out foxnews as illegitimate early on, and even welcomed them into press rooms and briefings. They are doing the same now with breitbart and newsmax and infowars. Where will we be when Alec Jones has a front row seat in the whitehouse briefing room?
Once propaganda becomes legitimate, our democracy will not exist.

Watch how republican Steve King tries to make the story about leaks and not about possible collusion with Russia and the Trump campaign staff to throw the election…

Why is that homeless guy still in the White House. And why should anyone with a brain give a crap what Steve King (R) has to say about anything?

BBC and The Guardian are good sources, and the picture they are painting is not very pretty
