McConnell squelched CIA reports that Russian hacks worked to elect Trump

According to a bombshell report from the Washington Post, the CIA concluded that Russia actively interfered in the election not just to destabilize our political system, but to actively elect Donald Trump. This conclusion was not something they just pulled out of thin air. Intelligence agencies had arrived at their conclusion in September, and briefed a…

A CIA report confirms a foreign country (Russia) acted covertly to not only destabilize our entire political system of democratically elected governance, but to “actively elect Donald Trump”.
This entire sham election needs to be investigated, including FBI collusion by publically announcing unfounded criminal allegations weeks before voting and then casually rescinding them without comment just days before.
Unfortunately our incompetent and neutered media will ignore all of this as they have to date.
Shame on them…..shame on us for putting up with this!
We’ve lost the fourth estate and the new regime has replaced it with social media.

The only way the trumpster could have won the election. The question remains who rigged it for him ?

I believe the official charge is Obstructing government administration at the very least. It’s time to convene some hearings, and hand out some subpeonas

This is reprehensible, this is unacceptable. This borders on treason, there must be action taken. Since there seems to be no precedent to address such unethical, and perhaps illegal activity, the election should be set aside until the entire truth comes out. We can’t allow a party of such a low character to take over our government.

But since the majority of both houses have lined up behind him, there’s no way to stop him. Unless he actually does “shoot someone on 5th Ave”, they’re not going to do anything. And maybe not even then. Maybe if he shot a republican.

    • Foundryman December 10th, 2016 at 13:00

If Trump and the republicans knew this was happening, (and there is no reason to think they didn’t) this doesn’t border on treason, it IS absolutely treason all the way.

Unfortunately, in this case, the definition of treason in the US is very, very narrow. It is defined in the Constitution itself, the only law so defined.
Article III, section 3 of the United States Constitution:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

This would require an official declaration that Russia is our enemy under this provision, they certainly are hostile to us, but it might be hard to get them defined as an enemy.
In most other countries the actions of these people would definitely be treasonous and would, at least, cost them their jobs.

    BUT BUT E-MAILS…
This whole election, transition team, cabinet picks and tRump’s current adoration and greatness tour are a joke and a sham.
With the house and senate in the bag, nothing is going to come of this information.
    Don’t drop your soap.

I was right when I had the feeling of an internal coup in the final week before the election. South Americans easily recognize this kind of thing. What Americans are living now, sadly, is what Americam foreign policy has done to many foreign countries. That’s how it feels…

    • oldfart December 10th, 2016 at 13:22

It’s looking pretty ugly for the foreseeable future.

      • Gina Bousquet December 10th, 2016 at 14:02

I agree. It might take longer than expected, but the joint effort of several democratic groups and attempts at negotiation with Congress cannot be disregarded. Grassroots organizations, marches, occupying, boycotts, all and everything must be tried.

Democrats need to get a whole lot louder and stop being so nice and start calling this what it is. Trump is a Russian puppet and has no legitimacy to be sworn in as President. He and Putin got caught trying to steal this election, and he should be placed under arrest until all the facts are in. There is no way he or any of his cronies should come near the government of the country because of this.

    • Gina Bousquet December 10th, 2016 at 15:05

I can’t understand why such tolerance with facts so absurd involving an election!

      • Foundryman December 10th, 2016 at 15:42

I know, we don’t have a Democratic Elected Representative Republic if a foreign power conspires to manipulate the results, it’s impossible. If republicans don’t come out and demand a thorough and complete investigation of this, that’s all we need to know who else was behind it! They need to call for a delay for the electoral college until it can be shown Trump didn’t have anything to do with it. He personally called for Russia to hack Hillary and release what they found. That looks real bad for him right now.

        • Gina Bousquet December 10th, 2016 at 19:20

That’s right, Congress should call for an investigation, it’s a shame if they don’t.

          • StoneyCurtisll December 10th, 2016 at 21:09

            Congress is under Republican control…
Don’t hold your breath for an investigation as to how Donald Trump got elected.

            • Gina Bousquet December 10th, 2016 at 21:52

Yes, you’re absolutely right. :( It’s just hard to believe it took place so easily in the US!

  8. Jungle_Bhoy December 10th, 2016 at 17:50

What is really worrying is that Trump proved to be such an easy dupe for the Russians. He really is not a smart guy – his vanity and ego were the only targets Putin needed to hone in on – must have been one of the easiest ‘conversion’ cases Putin has ever worked on.

But the GOP will be beating the email and Benghazi story for years

    Another treasonous GOPer.

McConnell is a long-time Washington insider. He’s part of the swampland that Trump sold to roughly 46.3% of Americans site-unseen. Trump supporters are learning very quickly that they were railroaded by a skilled swampland salesman. Unfortunately, because of that foolish 46.3%, many in the working class are going to be out in the bitter cold very shortly.
