Keith Lamont Scott’s wife got it on tape.

The video shows Rakeyia Scott filming police as they arrive on the scene. She pleads with the police to not shoot Scott, and then films officers standing and kneeling over Scott after he has been shot.

“Don’t shoot him, don’t shoot him. He has no weapon,” Rakeyia Scott is heard saying in the video, published by The New York Times and NBC News. The Times said the video was provided by lawyers for Scott’s family.

“He has no weapon. Don’t shoot him,” Rakeyia Scott says.

“Drop the gun! Drop the f—ing gun!” an officer is heard yelling multiple times in front of parked vehicles.
“He doesn’t have a gun, he has a T.B.I. [traumatic brain injury],” his wife says. “He is not going to do anything to you guys. He just took his medicine.”

Officers are heard multiple times telling Keith Scott to drop a weapon as his wife urges the man to get out of the vehicle before shots ring out.

“Did you shoot him? Did you shoot him? Did you shoot him? He better not be f—ing dead,” his wife is heard saying. “He better live.”

This sure has the feeling of being one of those moments where have you have just reached the tipping point and everything is about to go crazy. We didn’t do what we should’ve after Ferguson and now the price may be very high.

The cops have too much power and abuse that power way too often.

Ask any gun rights advocate and he will tell you that the “right to defend yourself” is our most basic right.

But that right does not exist when you are defending yourself against the cops

if a cop is coming at you you better just sit down and take whatever they are going to dish out and hope you survive it.

If the cops come to the wrong house and bust the door down do you have the right to defend yourself and shoot it out? Nope

If they grab you throw you o. The ground and drive their heal into your neck do you have a right to defend yourself? Nope.

What if they throw you in a choke hold for Selling cigarette on the street can you defend yourself?? Nope.

You have no right to defend yourself and these cowardly law enforcement (??) know it.

That’s the reason they think they are so tuff.

And that discussion is one this country will never have.”

All very interesting points. Another point that I find to be quite fascinating about this whole debate is the fact that a good number of those who are supposedly against giving any individual dictatorial powers have little to no problem bestowing the same type of power on officers. The country goes to war to supposedly topple those with murderous dictatorial powers while allowing the same type of dictatorial powers to be concentrated in the hands of few.

      some do, but MOST don’t.

it’s that the good cops tend to look the other way, allowing the few bad cops to do as they please. Like I’ve been saying for a long time, they need to weed out the bad ones as soon as they’re discovered. As has been pointed out in this case, there appears to be a gun that just happened to be discovered but wasn’t shown in a real time video where it was suppose to have been found. Kinda like an innocent teen throwing down a telephone on a rain soaked ground while talking to a friend just so he could jump an armed man by surprise during a loud argument?

In the one photo previously released, there is a gun at the victim’s feet.

But do you see it in this video?

The video gives a clear view of the area by his feet and I don’t see any gun.

Unless I’m missing something, this video will fuel the theory that police planting the gun.

may be why the US DOJ has jumped on this right away. That was my first thought as soon as I heard they had found a gun.

This kind of situation looks so much like executions if it was not in such small scale– compared to the population– one would have to call it genocide.
