Father: ‘I had no idea’ what he was up to

Posted by | September 19, 2016 19:34 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly

The father of the New York bombing suspect was blindsided.

Mohammed Rahami, the father of Ahmad Rahami, the suspect in the New Jersey and New York bombings this weekend, spoke to NBC News briefly Monday and said he had “no idea” what his son was up to.

“When you see in your family, you feel yourself, too, what’s going on,” he told NBC News’ Kerry Sanders, who approached Rahami’s car after he drove past police barricades near the scene of the capture of the suspect in Linden, New Jersey.

Asked if he believed what his son had been accused of, Rahami said, “I’m not sure what’s going on … I’m not sure what’s happening, exactly. But I think so.”

I cant imagine the pain a father must feel when a son goes rouge…

Hi Stoney! What does rouge mean in English? It means red or revolutionary in French…

      • bpollen September 20th, 2016 at 06:28

I think he meant “rogue.” In English, rouge is that makeup used on cheeks to add red. This woman is either using rouge or has a rash:

Thanks bp, sorry I missed the word he meant, obviously rogue… :)

Actually, I think he meant going “rogue” which is a person, organization or country that doesn’t behave in the usual or acceptable way.

Yes, thank you Bunya. As the foreigner I am, I missed the expression. :)

Hey, I can barely handle my native language. You’re steps ahead of me.

I like good lines, regardless of the source.

do you know who i’m talking about? the poster here. “Original”

                  • bpollen September 21st, 2016 at 15:46

Yeah, I got it. I have sometimes liked lines from people whose opinions suck, and lines that I disagreed with wholeheartedly, but still laughed because it was a good line. That’s was my point, not that “Original” was a bad guy. I LIKE him and his comments.

                    • whatthe46 September 21st, 2016 at 19:26

well, i actually thought you thought i was talking about his comment being an original. LOL. wow, we were all over the map with that one huh? too funny.

Sometimes I go of on weird little tangents with obscure references and jokes, so our failure of communications had a real familiar ring!
