Get ready for even more heat.

As reported by the the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), global temperatures in the first six months of this year are shattering records.

The average temperature for the first half of 2016 was 1.3°C, which is 2.4°F warmer compared to the pre-industrial era in the late 19th century when we began this kind of records-keeping.

The same pattern is true for the average ocean temperature which was 1.05°C (1.89°F) above the 20th century average. It beat the previous record set in 2015 (the previous hottest year) by 0.20°C (0.36°F).

Climate deniers Trump and GOP are functionally and scientifically illiterate know-nothing flipped Whigs.

Earlier this month,Paul Beckworth a climate scientist at the univ. Of Ottawa made the following statement;”The No.hemisphere jet stream has merged with the So.hemisphere jet stream.Thats bad news for seasonality.Welcome to climate chaos. We must declare a global climate emergency! This signals massive hits to the food supply and massive GEOPOLITICAL unrest! This pattern is unprecented!” Maybe someone will explain to Tru mp what a climate scientist is.

      Ice Melt at the Poles
It’s confirmed: both Antarctica and Greenland are losing ice—around 350 billion tons each year—and, as a result, sea level has risen 11.1 millimeters worldwide since 1992. This photo shows a summertime channel created by the flow of melted ice, which ultimately carries the water away from the glacier to the sea.

It’s not easy to measure melting ice. But by using data from 10 satellite missions, an international team of 47 scientists put together the most accurate estimate of ice melt to date. Ice melt doesn’t just affect sea level, however: the influx of fresh water could change the salinity of the North Atlantic enough to alter weather patterns in North America and affect ocean organisms.

Learn more about how scientists study melting ice and glaciers in Greenland in this video with Dr. Sarah Das from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

Ahhh… the ol’ “weather disproves climate” argument. Similar to saying Schnauzers disprove the existence of canines.

It is so easy to stick your hear into a snowbank (if you can find one) and deny any of this
