Phil Robertson: God to punish America because we ‘priss around and display our perversion’

Posted by | May 11, 2016 13:16 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton would lead us “further down into the abyss,” he says.

Robertson, who endorsed Ted Cruz for president, said that he wasn’t yet sure about Donald Trump but that he was sure that a Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders presidency would lead us “further down into the abyss.”

“So basically I’m calling the United States of America, beginning with the government, they need to just repent, turn back to God and heed the warnings of our founding fathers,” he said. “I think there is a chance. I don’t think there will be a chance with people like Hillary Clinton on the other side or Bernie Sanders. We just go further down into the abyss. But I don’t know about Donald Trump, he seems to be the one that the people have elected.”

This from a guy who believes that a piano in church is your ticket to hell

  2. clemans May 11th, 2016 at 13:30

this man is just too stupid to take seriously…..I am sorry I don’t usually like saying people are stupid…..but sometimes a rose by any other name…..still smells like fertilizer.

  3. Larry Schmitt May 11th, 2016 at 13:35

Speaking of perversion: Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Phil Robertson!

  4. Mike May 11th, 2016 at 13:38

Why would I support Phil or his god…???
Just 2 weeks ago you had the whole NASCAR stadium praying to your imaginary sky savior …then he lost…
Raphael told us he was god’s chosen…then he lost
Heidi said god told her to tell him to run…than he lost
Glenn Beck and millions prayed together…he still lost

I want a strong god (like Thor or Apep) if they lose you know there’s been a fight…Cruz went out like a puppy bested by an orange haired clown…

I bet he was just fine with that paranoiac Nixon in the White House, or Bush I and II, killing hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians.

    • granpa.usthai May 11th, 2016 at 14:17

killing in police action policies (where they REFUSE to declare war on our -(sic) enemies is OK as american christians have redefined kill to ‘murder’. if nobody sees you actually doing it, you’re in the clear if you’re a member of the club. [sort of like depositing war profits in an offshore bank account].

    • Suzanne McFly May 11th, 2016 at 18:39

They love to use the excuse “collateral damage” as if that dismisses their choice to enter or create a useless BS war.

  6. Nonbiased May 11th, 2016 at 13:38

Typical Republican….Wants small government when it comes to corporate America ripping us off and poisoning us, yet government large enough to fit in your bedroom.

    • granpa.usthai May 11th, 2016 at 14:12

makes me wonder how they would know what goes on in a bedroom – or a public restroom stall – unless they’re actually there?

  7. StoneyCurtisll May 11th, 2016 at 13:42

As if this reality show a-hole has any sway over the population….

    • granpa.usthai May 11th, 2016 at 14:27

well, he seems to be certain that Bernie or Hillary will continue to take US down the road of EQUAL RIGHTS for all, and preserve our individual rights and liberties. Like him, I ain’t sure about baby don don either.

  8. halfwayin May 11th, 2016 at 13:48

This guy is actually closer to being Jesus than you might think.

    • granpa.usthai May 11th, 2016 at 14:24

yea, I know, I’ve heard they actually have him on video walking in water.

      • halfwayin May 11th, 2016 at 14:36

Well, he’s got the beard and the long hair.. The only thing that is missing is the blue eyes..

    • Dwendt44 May 11th, 2016 at 17:14

      You mean ‘imaginary’?

    >> “So basically I’m calling the United States of America, beginning with the government, they need to just repent, turn back to God and heed the warnings of our founding fathers,”

Why don’t you STFU and do some basic research on the thoughts & beliefs of America’;s founders, you willfully-misinformed cretin! (Oh, that’s right, that would require ‘reading’… well just study the pictures then and maybe you’ll get the general idea… hey, it worked for W !)

    * (american christian beliefs)

if nobody sees us doing wrong, then it’s not wrong – for just like federal law when a twice elected Hawaiian resides in the White House – the ten commandments are OPTIONAL.

ps: the only warnings our founding fathers made were….

    • Larry Schmitt May 11th, 2016 at 14:12

Wait, Hawaii? Is that part of the US? Better have tRump’s people look into that.

      • Hirightnow May 11th, 2016 at 14:17

They’re like Puerto Rico, with leis…

      • granpa.usthai May 11th, 2016 at 14:22

hopefully trump’s investigators will find the bill of sale for Hawaii that cliven bundy signed with the communist Chinese and tear it up before picking up nothing on Obama’s Hawaiian Birth Certificate which would prove it’s a fake if they can’t find anything!

    • halfwayin May 11th, 2016 at 14:40

Don’t forget it was God that forbid eating from the tree of knowledge

It was Satan dressed up to look like a snake, in a short conversation that resulted in human being critical thinking..

      • Larry Schmitt May 11th, 2016 at 15:27

The best evidence of critical thinking would be to recognize the book for the fairy tale collection it is.

It occurred to me after reading this that the problem of rampant idiocy in America could be cured if only we could convince the idiots like Mr. Robertson that they were indeed, idiots. The problem is, how to convince an idiot that he is an idiot . This may turn out to be tougher than curing cancer folks, hence, regrettably, we will have to deal with idiocy in America for years to come . I’m sorry to be the bearer of this terrible news.

    • Suzanne McFly May 11th, 2016 at 18:36

Well we need to stop fellow idiots from giving this idiot money, he feels he is being legitimized with each dollar that is donated.

  12. bpollen May 11th, 2016 at 16:00

When the Swamp-Gas Philosopher speaks, people say: WTF is he talking about?

  13. wpadon May 11th, 2016 at 16:02

If Phil’s God was going to hurt the US, why is he only hurting the “religious” States?

  14. Dwendt44 May 11th, 2016 at 17:17

Totally overlooking that most of our founding fathers, certainly most of those anyone can name off the top of their head, were not christians to begin with.
PHIL, it’s a secular constitution buddy. The law of the land says this country was NOT founded on the christian religion. Put a sock in it.

  15. Suzanne McFly May 11th, 2016 at 18:33

Well what is Robertson’s reasoning behind all the deadly weather the Bible Belt is currently dealing with? What is God telling us about there? I have a few ideas, but I would love to hear his description first.

  16. Chris May 11th, 2016 at 19:43

Phil, you’re ignoring God’s wrath being visited on the South right now. How else would you explain the terrible weather?

I think it’s also due to Donald Trump’s numerous adulterous relationships and “not welcoming the stranger as you were once strangers in a strange land.”

Remember the Word of God, Phil. Physician, heal thyself.

Why is it, the American nut bar class is totally obsessed with religions from the Middle East

  18. jybarz May 11th, 2016 at 21:31

    What a pretentious moron.
