Convicted Right Wing Pundit’s Wife: He ‘Physically Abused’ Me

Posted by | September 24, 2014 09:23 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Top Stories

It’s now on the public record.

The Smoking Gun has been poring through court documents in the wake of the slap on the wrist given to Dinesh D’Souza, who received eight months in a sort of “halfway house,” five years probation, and a $30,000 fine for egregious violations of federal campaign finance law. And it seems that the court is not the only party that’s been doing plenty of slapping:

During the sentencing hearing, Berman read from a blistering letter submitted to the court by D’Souza’s estranged wife. In the missive, Dixie D’Souza alleged that her ex-spouse forged her signature on one campaign contribution form, and that he had an “abusive nature.”

D’Souza, who was married to the defendant for 20 years, wrote, “In one instance, it was my husband who physically abused me in April 2012 when he, using his purple belt karate skills, kicked me in the head and shoulder, knocking me to the ground and creating injuries that pain me to this day.”

Dinesh D’Souza filed for divorce in October 2012, and that case remains active in California’s Superior Court.

In her letter to the court, Dixie D’Souza adds this juicy nugget:

I also have serious questions about Dinesh’s financial disclosures, particularly with regard to amounts he has had on deposit in accounts at banks in India. I believe he has abused his authority over the course of our marriage handling our financial affairs. He has abused it in taking our most important financial documents out of our home before he filed for divorce, buying rental properties in India during our marriage without my knowledge or consent, and numerous financial breaches af fiduciary duties in the California Family Law Court. This shows a continued pattern of hiding financial assets.

You can read the documents (.pdf format) here. One gets the feeling that the scandals surrounding D’Souza are long from over…

I can’t wait to see Fox spin this. I’m sure Gush Rimbaugh will have some kind of misogynist rant about the wife. Can they be any more repugnant?

I wonder what the real story is. No police report of the cited incident, his daughter states to the court she(wife) was abusive to him…
I think I’ll wait for more direct evidence either way and w/hold judgement for now…

    • dave-dr-gonzo September 24th, 2014 at 13:50

Here’s the “real story”, Sparky: multiple studies prove that the vast majority spousal abuse goes unreported. I hope tat the ex presses charges and that law enforcement rigorously investigates, that she sues the admitted and convicted slimeball’s ass, and that she cleans the proven liar out.

      • Spirit of America September 24th, 2014 at 14:15

Your post doesn’t add 1 data point of new evidence as to whether he committed spousal abuse or not, period. Just because you’re so emotionally tied up in hating him, doesn’t make him guilty.
Now, if you think he is guilty on just 1 person’s word and no other facts yet, then you must think Lerner is guilty cause some ‘said’ she did illegal things, and Hillary and Bill are guilty of murder cause someone ‘said’ they did, that Atty Gen is racist cause some ‘said’ he is, and on and on.
Or, is it just the ones you dislike that are guilty w/out all the facts?
Geee Ginzo, that sounds a bit like hypocrisy…

        • Dwendt44 September 24th, 2014 at 14:34

That ‘one person’ was his wife of 20 years, and divorced him due to his abuse and cheating. Now he’s a convicted criminal. And still a darling over at Fakenews. The Kelly File had him on whining about being sentenced.

          • Spirit of America September 24th, 2014 at 14:47

Still doesn’t mean he abused her, nothing you said changes that. Not to mention, he divorced her, not her him. :)

            • Dwendt44 September 24th, 2014 at 15:16

              You know that how?
Doesn’t mean he didn’t abuse her either. Once the divorce is final what’s the point of making up an abuse claim?

              • Spirit of America September 24th, 2014 at 17:04

I don’t, and I fully admit it AND I never said he didn’t; I said I’ll hold off(unlike some others) until more facts, facts, come to light.
As for what’s the use??!! Revenge, spitefulness, boredom… that’s NEVER been done before in human history I take it? She may have seen a way to pay back for the infidelity and took it, possible, not saying it is. Again, I, nor others, know.
But hey, let hate rule…. seems to be all the vogue any more…

                • Dwendt44 September 24th, 2014 at 18:43

Discuss perhaps, not hate. I’m coming from reality, You?
If she was going to make up false claims of abuse, it would be during the divorce, to gain advantage, child custody (if there were any here) and perhaps financial advantage. It happens, I know full well.
As I stated, there’s no real advantage to making up such a claim long after the divorce. Pre-sentencing investigation would have dug this up in any case.

                  • Spirit of America September 24th, 2014 at 19:12

“If she was going to make up false claims of abuse, it would be during the divorce, to gain advantage, child custody…”
Actually, why wasn’t it brought up then? That’s a good question. But, if she harbored ill will, are you saying no one has ever waited and then saw a chance to do harm? As for the ‘advantage’, sure there was, possible, as in payback.. longer sentence.
And again, I’m not saying he did or didn’t, I’m saying I am waiting for more facts cause it’s his and his daughter’s word up against hers, so I’m not convinced either way.

                    • Dwendt44 September 24th, 2014 at 19:24

I refer you to Obewan’s post above. That claim was made during the divorce.
Waiting for facts to change reality? That could take a while, especially since facts seem to offend you.

                    • Spirit of America September 24th, 2014 at 19:47

                      LOL LOL LOL, UNbelievABLE!!!

I just said that was a good question, believing you knew one way or the other!! I took you at your ‘word’, guess I won’t do that anymore.

“Waiting for facts to change reality?”
What’s the ‘reality’? DO you have PROOF he hit her? Proof, not 1 person’s word against 2, no hospital records of it, no police report… do you have PROOF?
No, you don’t, THAT’s the reality.

Let me ask you a ?
If someone you’ve never met claimed that a member of your family molested a child years ago, would you immediately believe them? Especially if there was ill will between the accuser and your family member?

                      Be honest please.

                    • Dwendt44 September 24th, 2014 at 19:55

Hard time accepting reality? To answer your question, IF a member of any family made a claim of child abuse from YEARS AGO, I’d be skeptical as anyone should be.
Because that involves a third party, because it’s YEARS AGO.
D’Souza’s ex apparently made the claim AT THE TIME OF THEIR DIVORCE, it carries more weight. As has been stated, there often ISN’T a police or hospital report. Maybe it was only a ‘minor’ beating that didn’t brake bones or draw a lot of blood.

                    • Spirit of America September 24th, 2014 at 19:59

She states it still hurts her to ‘this day’, meaning when she wrote the letter to the court at his sentencing… that wouldn’t be minor.

I’m sure you are waiting for proof of Ray Rice’s guilt as well, right?
More information needed for that to, eh?
Since she still suffers the after affects of him kicking her in the head, etc., it could certainly be proven by therapy needed, medicine used, etc… Since we don’t have personal details, I’ll accept her sworn statement. Has D’Souza denied it? I don’t think he has.

So, instead of answering the question you change the topic eh? OK, I’m used to that tactic, I’ll play…
No, I’m not waiting since there is 2 video shots of the episode, he’s admitted to it, she’s confirmed it. Now, how does that compare to 1 person’s word?

Most every right wing “Family values” hero is a crashed and burned hypocrite: Wife-beater D’Souza is a convicted Felon, Sen. Vitter’s Hooker’s, Sen Ensign’s taxpayer and parent paid-off paramour, Mark Sanford’s Fathers-day hike to Argentina, Philanderer Newt’s 5 marriages, and the disgraced Palin Brawl injuries.

Mrs. D’Souza’s legal letter to the court: “in April 2012 when he, using his purple belt karate skills, kicked me in the head and shoulder, knocking me to the ground and creating injuries that pain me to this day.”-Dinesh’s RWNJ America has no place for women’s rights, responsibility, or equality.

Every right wing “Family values” hero is a crashed and burned hypocrite: Wife-beater D’Souza is a convicted Felon, Sen. Vitter’s Hooker’s, Sen Ensign’s taxpayer and parent paid-off paramour, Mark Sanford’s Fathers-day hike to Argentina, Philanderer Newt’s 3rd wife, Trump’s 3 wives, Limbaugh’s 4 marriages, and the violent Palin Brawl disgrace.

Desouza was whining on the radio the other day about how unfair it is that he has to do this soft time.

Just one more in the long line of precious Jesus loving Christians who are preaching to others, but abusing their wives, hiding assets, breaking the law, but mewling about it when caught.

    Despicable
