South Carolina Circuit Court Judge Michael Nettles sentenced Cassandra Tolley to eight years in jail, and ordered her to read the Old Testament and write an essay about Job.

Tolley’s pastor, Rev. Daggett Duncan of the New Vision Free Will Baptist Church, believes this type of sentence will help Tolley.

“I think (Nettles’) faith and his compassion led him to use the book of Job,” Duncan told the Herald of Rock Hill. “Job made it through, and he wants her to know she can too.”
