Trump looking for way out of climate deal
We’d be one of the few nations not participating.
Click here for reuse options!…Trump is seeking quick ways of withdrawing from a global agreement to limit climate change, a source on his transition team said, defying widening international backing for the plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
Since the U.S. President-elect was chosen, governments ranging from China to small island states have reaffirmed support for the 2015 Paris Agreement at 200-nation climate talks running until Nov. 18 in Marrakesh, Morocco.
Trump, who has called global warming a hoax and has promised to quit the Paris Agreement, was considering ways to bypass a theoretical four-year procedure for leaving the accord, according to the source, who works on Trump’s transition team for international energy and climate policy.

The world should boycott America if we back out of the climate deal.
Suzanne McFly November 13th, 2016 at 09:00
No matter what, we are all going to hurt while this person in in charge.
oldfart November 13th, 2016 at 09:19
It would help climate warming if he could just keep his mouth shut.
Larry Schmitt November 13th, 2016 at 09:52
Remember, this is the idiot who thought, and said publicly, that his sealed apartment would keep the CFC’s in his hair spray from entering the atmosphere. That’s equivalent to Inhofe’s snowball in the Senate trick. The really sad part is, we have complete ignoramuses like this making policies that affect us all for generations.

Hirightnow November 13th, 2016 at 10:57
I always thought that what that speech needed was for him to get beaned with a snowball, and the senate cameras pan to show another senator ducking down behind a desk…
Larry Schmitt November 13th, 2016 at 10:57
But with a rock inside it.
Larry Schmitt November 13th, 2016 at 09:57
Here’s his hair spray video.

In Miami Florida at high tide the Atlantic ocean is coming up the drain sewers. In fact they are spending $500 million just to raise the streets. There is no doubt this is happening because of the warming of the ocean. Warm water expands. And of course all that ice melt.
Florida voted yes for the orange pumpkin head.
Chickens, meet Colonial Sanders.
Larry Schmitt November 13th, 2016 at 10:08
The Army Corps of Engineers has for years been fighting a losing battle, shoring up the eroded beaches all along the Atlantic Coast. That’s like trying to stop a volcanic explosion. Which the Italian Air Force tried to do once, and of course it failed.
anothertoothpick November 13th, 2016 at 10:39
Yeah I believe you Larry.
I was just reading a book about the 1920’s and it talked about the great land rush in Florida. Land developers basically filled up a swamps with sand and sold off lots by the thousands. Miami was just a huge swamp 4 feet above sea level.
In 1925 People were sending down payments on lots sight unseen from newspaper advertisements.
These lots turned out to be like that game the kids play were if the music stops and you don’t have a chair to sit in you are out.
Well the music stopped and if you had a lot, you were stuck with it hahahahahah….
By the way that is were the saying “I’d like to sell you a swampland in Florida” came from.
Larry Schmitt November 13th, 2016 at 10:43
South Florida was never intended for millions of people to live right on the coast, any more than the Mississippi River floodplain was. Whenever we try to f*ck with Mother Nature, the same thing happens, every time. We come out second. And humans have the worst combination of traits. We’re both stupid and stubborn.
anothertoothpick November 13th, 2016 at 10:53
I got a friend that is thinking about buying a house in Florida to retire.
When I tell him how risky that is he says “But I want to buy on the gulf side”.
And I look at NOAH map pojections and it turns out the gulf side will be just as flooded if not more.
Larry Schmitt November 13th, 2016 at 10:54
The water doesn’t know, or care, which side it’s on. Rising water levels are global.
anothertoothpick November 13th, 2016 at 11:02
Hahahahahahah…..
Oh by the way the guy that wants to retire in Florida voted for trump.
Larry Schmitt November 13th, 2016 at 11:02
Of course he did.
Larry Schmitt November 13th, 2016 at 11:04
This is the kind of promise he made. Are we going back to coal?

Hey thanks for the interesting article Larry.
I gotta admit Virginia is sure a gorgeous state.
Did you see yesterday that McConnell admitted that the coal jobs are probably not coming back.
After all that Hate Obama/clinton $hit he threw out there about the “war on coal” he admits coal is dying.
Larry Schmitt November 13th, 2016 at 11:11
Late news bulletin, the buggy whip and steam engine industries aren’t coming back either.
anothertoothpick November 13th, 2016 at 11:14
Buggy whip makers and steam engine builders did what they had to do.
They evolved.
anothertoothpick November 13th, 2016 at 11:12
It is also hard to believe that this coal miners don’t see that natural gas, because of fracking is so plentiful they are almost giving it away, and mountain top removal, which is happening right before their very eyes cuts the work force in half.
I don’t understand those people.
StoneyCurtisll November 13th, 2016 at 11:33
Maybe Trump will decree that all new building including private housing be built with coal fired boilers..
Or he could decree that natural gas be more expensive to burn than coal…
Other than that, the chance of Trump bringing back the coal industry is just another Trump lie.
Hirightnow November 13th, 2016 at 12:46
Coal, according to Mitch McConnell, is “a private sector activity”…
IOW, “Thanks for the votes, suckers!!! Muwahahaaaaa!”
StoneyCurtisll November 13th, 2016 at 11:29
Oh come on Larry, the new reality is that global warming/climate change is just a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese..
Welcome to Trump World~!
Hirightnow November 13th, 2016 at 12:43
What if global warming/climate change is real, but the Chinese just wanted Donald Trump to think that it was a hoax?
Oh, those crafty Chinese……

amersham1046 November 13th, 2016 at 18:34
there is a class of people that enjoy living in a swamp
Larry Schmitt November 13th, 2016 at 18:41
And they’re welcome to it, as long as they don’t expect FEMA to bail them out every time there’s a big blow, or the ACE to rebuild their beaches.
Hirightnow November 13th, 2016 at 10:52
The A.C.E. actually tried to cut Florida in half, once…never thinking about the effects.
StoneyCurtisll November 13th, 2016 at 11:25
Interesting story, thanks fo the link.
Hirightnow November 13th, 2016 at 12:37
Quite welcome.
I never actually knew about it in full until I read some Piers Anthony books (The “Xanth” series…rather out of favor these days, because of reasons) where his land of Xanth, modeled after Florida, has a “Gap” (complete with a dragon)that everybody just seems to forget about (which was his whole point).
Warman1138 November 13th, 2016 at 13:07
How long can they tread water?…….. a future prerequisite for moving to Florida.

There are no facts in Trumpville. No science either. So forget about doing anything to mitigate the effects of climate change. Not gonna happen.
