Congratulations to the new parents. I am always perversely tickled by the idea that someone new will learn the pain of sleep deprivation.

‘Angry Carla’ just wiped the smile off of the new parents’ faces. BOOM!

The baby probably has a Nanny.

I considered that – so they’ll get more sleep than most but sleep deprivation none the less. I like to think of it as the ultimate equalizer. (at least that’s how I imagine it in my head)

“The thought of a granny in the White house doesn’t help Hillary’s presidential aspirations”.

Well now I suppose that would be based on our limited History of women who aspire to the White House.

Now let’s see. There’s Chelsea Clinton daughter of President Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

undergraduate degree at Stanford University and later earned master’s degrees from Oxford University and Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and a DPhil from the University of Oxford in 2014.
Has worked for McKinsey & Company, Avenue Capital Group, and New York University and serves on several boards, including those of the School of American Ballet, Clinton Foundation, Clinton Global Initiative, Common Sense Media, Weill Cornell Medical College and IAC/InterActiveCorp.
      and then there is…….

      • Skydog2 September 27th, 2014 at 11:07

It brings age into the debate, same hurdle McCain faced.

        • William September 27th, 2014 at 11:12

Then maybe you should actually mention age.
There are lots and lots of 50 year old granparents.
          Here maybe this will help.

        • arc99 September 27th, 2014 at 11:16

For the far right wing base, impervious to factual objective information, it could be an issue. For the rest of us we recognize that many in the GOP are pushing Mitt Romney who is 6 months OLDER than Hilary, to run again.

So much for the age BS.

          • Skydog2 September 27th, 2014 at 13:25

Was is fair when the left discussed McCain’s age as an issue?

            • arc99 September 27th, 2014 at 13:37

McCain was the older candidate. It was certainly fair. I personally do not agree with the tactic, but it was fair.

In fact, focusing on Hilary’s age when two prominent candidates in the GOP are older is also fair. Stupid, but fair.

        • arc99 September 27th, 2014 at 11:19

submitted for your consideration as they used to say on the Twilight Zone.

So no age considerations at all for Trump or Romney, but it would be an issue for Mrs. Clinton, the youngest of the three.

Right wing logic at its best.

Donald John Trump, Sr. (born June 14, 1946)

Willard Mitt Romney (born March 12, 1947

Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton (born October 26, 1947)

          • Skydog2 September 27th, 2014 at 11:31

I’m not defending it as being fair but it is reality. Women candidates get more scrutiny over their physical appearance than their male opponents. Remember the hysteria over Palin’s glasses and hair style?

            • arc99 September 27th, 2014 at 11:36

actually I don’t remember any hysteria over Palin’s appearance. I do remember hysteria over her inability to cite a significant Supreme Court case other than Roe v Wade, just months after her state lost billions of dollars in the Exxon Valdez ruling.

Outrageous people suffer the consequences. I have seen far more hysteria over Trump’s hair than Palin’s, and rightfully so I might add.

              • Skydog2 September 27th, 2014 at 13:13

“I don’t remember any hysteria over Palin’s appearance”

I posted a few links above to jog your memory. Would you like more examples or prefer to remain in denial.

                • arc99 September 27th, 2014 at 13:34

I read the Washington post article which concluded in a very complimentary fashion.

“”Palin’s style serves as evidence that a woman can step onto the national political stage without having to manipulate her wardrobe into some torturous costume calibrated to make her look authoritative but not threatening, feminine but not sexy, serious but not dour. Palin proves that a woman can wear red patent-leather shoes and still take questions on foreign policy and the economy.””

I do not see how that article is “hysteria”. In any event, the emphasis on a woman’s appearance is beyond idiotic, no matter who does it, and no matter the ideology of the person obsessing over looks.

Does not detract from my original point that anyone who obsesses over Hilary’s age while being open to a Trump or Romney candidacy is an even bigger idiot.

                  • Skydog2 September 27th, 2014 at 13:46

                    Agreed.

Hysteria as it was a regular point of discussion.

Anyone who discusses Trump’s age does so to deflect from his insanity.

The inside cover of Eat a Peach was often gazed upon while under the influence of ‘shrooms’ and other psychedelics..
hard to believe that was nearly 40 years ago…

Not only are you a racist, but sexist and ageist as well. No surprise there.

Basically a failure as a human being. You’re a conservative, after all.

What do you expect from a guy that uses Cher’s ex-husband as an avatar?
        :)

Cher’s ex-husband was Greg Allman, my avatar is Duane Allman (the greatest guitar player ever).

            My apologizes..
            For the mistaken identity..
And I was an Allman Brothers fan way back in the day.
still have a concert ticket stub from 1974..
And I have giant Eat a Peach poster on my wall.
I still have Live at the Fillmore East album..(classic)

Amazing music played by a bunch of 20 year-olds.

                Thanks for that video link..
When I was a kid, I literally played the groves off the album.
The inside cover of Eat a Peach was often gazed upon while under the influence of ‘shrooms’ and other psychedelics..
hard to believe that was nearly 40 years ago…

and yet many men were grandfathers

        Yep, an unfair double standard.

It’s worth noting McCain looked old while Romney looked vibrant. I won’t comment on Hillary.

          Hillary looks great
