Republicans Come Up With New Ad; If It’s 1964

In 1964 Lyndon Johnson ran the famous (or infamous) “Daisy Ad” warning what would happen if Barry Goldwater had been elected.  The ad showed a little girl peeling a daisy as the world blew up. It was widely regarded as fear mongering.

Fear mongering is, of course, right up the alley of the RNC.  When Michael Steele said last week, “The time to fix or focus on the past has ended…Now is the hour to focus all of our energies on winning the future,” perhaps he meant that the way you do it is by focusing on the past.

I wonder who that little girl is. And can she sue?
