Creationist history: gladiators vs. dinosaurs!

Learn all about human gladiatorial combat against velocirapotors at Ken Ham’s ARk Encounter!

A new display going into the creationist Noah’s Ark attraction in Kentucky shows what appears to be gladiator-style fights involving humans, giants and a dinosaur.

Ken Ham, founder of the group that runs the attraction, tweeted images of the new diorama on Thursday:

… Ham is the director of Answers in Genesis, a fundamentalist Christian sect who believe that the earth is only 6,000 years old and that humans, dinosaurs and apparently giants coexisted rather than being separated by millions of years.

“Scientists estimate that dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago, or a good 64.8 million years before the first homo sapiens, who evolved roughly 200,000 years ago,” said Mazza.

Okay, even we’ll concede that it would make a really cool Zack Snyder movie – though we doubt Mr. Ham would approve of the result. ‘Nuff said.

Of course Jesus would love dinosaurs too.

He loves all the little children…
        Because he told me so.

We used to hear the Protestant kids singing “Yes, Jesus Loves Me.”

I was forced to go to ‘bible school’ weekends and during the summer…(vacation bible school)..
The brainwashing was intense, but it never took hold in me…
it was all a lifetime ago, a vague memory.

VBS is still a thing. There are a couple of Baptist churches along my route to work, and I see the banners every summer. If I were a kid, I would dread having to give up a week of summer for that. Reminds me of the Simpsons, coming home after church, Lisa says, “My favorite part of the week. The longest possible time before more church.” That’s the way I felt. And we were Catholic, so we had to go every Sunday.

                I know brother…
                I feel you pain..
The southern baptist mantra was, you are gonna burn in a lake of fire unless you accept Jeezuz as your lord and savior…
Hell fire and brimstone will rain down upon you and your family if you do not bow down to the only true ‘gawd’…
And of course ‘Repent ye sinners’

Today they ask for “seed money’ to make themselves wealthy and spread the “gospel of prosperity”… ( jeezuz whats us all to be rich) and you seed of 1,000 US dollars will put you you on the right path to finical Enlightenment…

Let us bow our heads in shame, err ah I mean prayer…

Whenever I’m at any function, and they start with a prayer, I make it a point to not bow my head. Nobody’s making me pray when I don’t wanna pray.

My wife, a life-long Lutheran who saw two of her churches die in the last few years, just started attending a liberal northern baptist church started by Rockefeller because it has a damn fine choir she can sing with.
Now she’s either a Lutherist or Bapteran. I can’t tell which.
Her father was told as a Lutheran child that the bible was written in German and translated into Greek. A nice, humble Christian in the classic sense gentleman, but didn’t believe everything he was told.
