Do you remember where you were when you heard about the Bowling Green Massacre?

A new PPP poll shows that 51% of Trump supporters believe that two Iraqis perpetrated the fictitious “Bowling Green Massacre.”

Words do matter, Kellyanne.

This is an important reason why Trump voters say “Trump’s immigration policy is needed.”

Trump’s approval rating has dipped down to 43%, while 53% disapprove.

And another takeaway that comes out of this poll is that “by a 48/43 spread, voters do think that the intent of the Executive Order is to be a Muslim ban. And just 22% support a Muslim ban, to 65% who are opposed.”

Re-branding a bill doesn’t seem to affect Trump supporters, but spreading lies about a terrorist attack that never happened does.

Sound about right?

Do Democrats play dirty political tricks?

If so, it seems like Trump supporters could be manipulated by our side, as well.

    • fahvel

do you really want to be associated with an ignorant pool of whatever that aspires to be as smart and huge as a flock of sheep. Leave the idiots to their own devices and watch the fun.

      • Budda

I humbly disagree. They are like a festering wound, the need to be ‘cleansed’ of their infection.

    • mea_mark

If manipulation leads to greater understanding and more informed decisions, great. If it is just for temporary gains it isn’t worth it. Integrity should be part of the brand.

      • Mensa Member

Sheesh. Take the high ground, why don’t you?

I was having more of a fantasy experience. I’m thinking of some funny but smart viral campaign to make conservatives turn on each other.

    • Suzanne McFly

We would have to promise them unlimited gun rights, women, gays, and POC are not given any liberties to live as they wish, and we can bring their religious teachings in school. I say a big NO to that.

      • granpa.usthai

what’s wrong with LYING to them like the republicans do?

        • Suzanne McFly

I don’t support my party selling its soul to attract deplorables, we are better than they are.

  • Mike

    Exactly, it’s called willful ignorance

  • Suzanne McFly

I found myself stuck in a “conversation” on facebook with my Dad and a friend of mine (both unfortunately are rwnj’s). They both had ridiculous replies about the “success” of rump and his appointments. Finally my Dad said all my facts come from fake news like Rachel Maddow. I knew right then it was a lost cause, he reads breitbart and has the nerve to call that bright woman fake news.

    • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker

      My sympathies.
My Dad and only brother are both rwnj’s and in the past their nonsense was easily refuted as long as I had the patience. Now they have the “fake news” mantra and all I can do is change the subject because they are impervious to facts and reality now.

    • robert

Did you ask your family above where the title ” fake news ” was during the Obama administration.

I don’t read or hear the news every day but I never heard this during his 8 yrs. But now I hear it all the time

      • Suzanne McFly

I told them I was done with the conversation, no one was going to listen to the other so what was the sense. Dad was happy 2 whole people liked one of his comments. You would think he would realize that would mean no one gives a crap about the conversation we were having but that is 2 more people that care about any of his other conversations.

    • StoneyCurtisll

      I feel your pain…
I work with a bunch of Trumpsters.

    • Jack E Raynbeau

Whenever I hear that I challenge then to watch Rachel one time and list the fake news so that we can discuss it. So far I’ve had no takers.

      • Suzanne McFly

They hate smart women who do not need a man. She makes them feel unneeded and they feel victimized when they watch her. Only men who are secure in themselves realize she is just a commentator who speaks liberaleze, not someone to be afraid of.

        • Mensa Member

          >> They hate smart women who do not need a man.

Yes but they hate smart people in general.

          • Suzanne McFly

I was using the term “women” due to the fact that I was referring to Rachel Maddow.

            • Mensa Member

You were clear. I was just being snarky.

And, I think you are spot-on.

It drives conservatives crazy when a woman is way smarter than them. (Rachael Maddow) Or a gay person. (Barney Frank). Or a black person (Barach Obama).

Ed snowden is being forced to fly to the united States by Putin as a gesture of good will by the Russian prez

  • StoneyCurtisll

    Speaking of Kellyann Conway…

  • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker

    So what could anyone expect?
This segment of our population has been fed a steady stream of lies, bigotry, hate, xenophobia and misogyny for decades through FOX, Rush, Hannity, Coulter, Alex Jones and many others who have gotten very wealthy off the gullibility of their followers.
Trump supporters are a strong voting block that’s based on ignorance and intolerance and is easily manipulated by propaganda.
These people were ripe for the picking as only a con man could recognize.
This is from a poll one year ago…

… and he totally folded over the two China thing. What a wimp.

        • granpa.usthai

          had to.

COWARD BULLIES will almost always back down from someone close to their own size (or in this case, bigger and becoming more so very rapidly).

also backed off of his whimpering threats at DPRK when they recently fired off an ICBM over Japan and hit dead on the target they set in the Pacific. this means 2 things to the military intel now.
          1. DPRK has the trigger for THERMONUCLEAR weapons, and most likely the weapons to go with it.
          2. DPRK now has a worldwide capability of delivering nuclear weapons (possibly THERMONUCLEAR) at their discretion – just as they have the possible discretion of becoming a protected province of China if said weapons were to be launched (even by accident) BEFORE they reached targets.

being the aggressor in a war with China ain’t a good idea, no matter what the cause.

          • Mensa Member

            You are probably right.

But I wonder about another possible reason Trump flip flopped on China — he might not even know there is a conflict between mainland China and Taiwan. The guy doesn’t read, after all.

    • Mensa Member

      >> Majorities of Republicans also believe that Obama is a socialist (67
percent), that he wants to take away Americans’ guns (61 percent), is a
Muslim (57 percent), has done “many” things that are not constitutional
(55 percent), and wants to turn the country over to a one world
      government (51 percent).

And 25% of Republicans think Obama is the anti-Christ prophesied 2,000 years ago in the bible!

Since we live in a post-PC era, I’m just going to say it: these people are morons.

  • William

“I love the poorly educated”. It’s ironic and somewhat telling that instead of trying to fund education and increase the literacy rate of Americans, the GOP has instead chose to cash in on our deficiencies.

    • granpa.usthai

it’s a known fact that hell is slowly growing colder (probably due to the growing number of lazyass whites that don’t want to work) and in several zillion universal years will be frozen over.

think the tiny handed orange blob could have it by then?

      • Mensa Member

I’m glad you wrote more. I thought you might be serious above. The conservatives say such boneheaded things, it’s hard to know who is joking.

  • Mensa Member

i go back and forth on this issue.

Conservatives will betray their own core values, on a dime, and genuinely not seem to notice.

Who can forget all that sanctimonious preaching they did about presidential sexual integrity? Trump even did it against Bill and Hillary!

Then, they vote for Trump and get offended if you call them a hypocrite.

    • granpa.usthai

if there is a media organization that’s willing to take the time to call them on each and every LIE instead of letting several thousand slip through unchallenged, like when they slip in ‘trump was elected by the people by an overwhelming majority’ and it’s just ignored.

trump LOST the popular vote by 3,000,000.

that’s more than the total population of 20 states of the union.

something that should be brought up each and every time trump’s crowd tries to slip through the ‘majority of the people’ LYING BS.

      • Mensa Member

        Good points.

And I’m not convinced that the vote wasn’t miniatured in the key swing states.

I don’t mean some grand conspiracy by the Russians. I mean dirty GOP politics at a precinct level — like happened in Ohio in 2004.

i’d rather not. i read enough of their stupidity. so much in fact, it makes my hair hurt.

    • Larry Schmitt

Trump’s first day in office is long over. Why hasn’t Obamacare been repealed?

    • Mensa Member

Predictably, the GOP lost all interest in emails and Benghazi as soon as they won the White House.

What’s irritating is that conservatives, who were so riled up, don’t even notice. They let the GOP lead them round by their noses.

    • dewired4u

      • Mensa Member

At first I thought you were joking. Anybody with an IQ above 80 knows that this is still Obama’s economy.

        • Mensa Member

But, don’t worry. It won’t be long before the GOP wrecks it. And, of course, they will blame Obama.

    • Mensa Member

The billionaire Trumpsters are readying the cash for when the GOP deregulates and crashes the housing market again. What is disaster for regular Americans is a buying opportunity for rich Republicans.
