Most unpopular new president in 4 decades

But suddenly the polls are rigged, Trump claims.
A poll commissioned by CNN/ORC found that Trump’s popularity had tumbled during the transition period and now stood at just 40 percent. That is a full 44 points lower that Barack Obama’s rating when he became America’s first African American president in January 2009. Other recent presidents also entered office with much stronger numbers. Bill Clinton was sworn in with an approval record of 67 per cent, while his successor, George W Bush, had an approval rating of 61 per cent, despite the disputed nature of the election and the fact it was ultimately decided by the Supreme Court.

I’ve posted parts of this list before, but now seems a good time to do it again. Please feel free to copy this and post it wherever you can drive the Obama-haters absolutely nuts. XD
Just a few things you can thank the Obama administration for in spite of the
Ended the Iraq War.
Got rid of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
Record Oil Production
Record Solar Energy and Wind Production
Recovered more Medicare Fraud than the last 6 administrations put together.
Passed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.
First Latina on the Supreme Court.
32 million+ more people now have health insurance.
Killed Osama bin Ladin.
Killed Anwar Al-Anwalki.
Wiped out 20 of the top 30 Qaeda leadership.
Killed Somali pirates and saved crew.
Ousted Gaddafi without harm to American troops.
Saved the auto industry, and soon GM ranked no. 1 in the world again.
Saved the aid workers in Somalia, using Seal Team Six.
Cash for Clunkers such a success, it was extended.
Instituted banking regulations.
Instituted credit card regulations.
Pushed back Iran’s nuclear program for 15 years, by boldly instigating international talks with them.
Put America First instead of Israel First by not letting Benjamin Netanyahu dictate policy on the long-standing two-state solution, by having the courage to criticize Netanyahu’s land-grabbing greed–which gives Islamic militants less ability to recruit against the United States and Great Britain.
Deported far more violent illegal immigrants than the George W. Bush administration.
Saved the innocent children that were forced by their parents to come here illegally through executive order.
Wrote executive orders to make it harder for whack jobs to get guns WITHOUT stopping law-abiding citizens from getting guns to hunt or protect their homes.
I’m sure there’s more things that could be listed: this is a just a little start. :)

Kept Gitmo open
Kept Patriot Act
Continued TSA molesting old ladies and children
Continued DEA raids on medicinal marijuana dispensaries
Kept giving Blackwater contracts
Deported more people than Bush
Continued extraordinary rendition
Increased drone strikes that kill innocents
Pushed for “assault weapon” ban that predictably led to panic buying
Supported establishment candidate Hillary over Bernie (who likely would have beat Trump)
Face it: Obama was Bush 2.0

Big Rick Crude, I’ve only got time for a partial response, for now:
“Deported more people than Bush”. It’s true, Barack Obama has deported close to 1/2 million more illegal immigrants than did George W. Bush. But I already made that point in my above list, and I want to emphasize that President Obama focused on violent offenders, which is just fine by me. http://www.snopes.com/obama-deported-more-people/
“Continued extraordinary rendition”. Obama has probably reduced this type of rendition as compared to Bush, but it’s hard to be sure by how much, so Politifact rates this as a compromise rather than a broken promise. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/obameter/promise/176/end-the-use-of-extreme-rendition/
“Increased drone strikes that kill innocents”. I concede this point to you.
“Pushed for ‘assault weapon’ ban that predictably led to panic buying”. Yes, the panic buying has now become predictable, but this undercuts your argument that Obama is Bush 2.0 Bush would never have done anything like this. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/06/white-house-assault-weapons-ban-224493
“Supported establishment candidate Hillary over Bernie (who likely would have beat Trump)”. Yep, but he held off until around March 2016 to do so, and I can’t imagine Bush indicating favoritism for either one of them, so this doesn’t make Obama a Bush 2.0. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/18/us/politics/obama-hillary-clinton-bernie-sanders.html?_r=0

“Kept Gitmo open” True. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/obameter/promise/177/close-the-guantanamo-bay-detention-center/
libpatriot January 25th, 2017 at 23:09
“Kept Patriot Act” Only partly true. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/obameter/promise/180/end-warrantless-wiretaps/
libpatriot January 25th, 2017 at 23:16
“Continued TSA molesting old ladies and children”–that’s a rather gross exaggeration. But President Obama DID keep a lot of strict TSA rules in place. But, so what? He’s gotten a lot of guns that were to be sneaked onto airplanes that way. http://thehill.com/policy/transportation/266588-tsa-intercepts-2653-guns-in-2015
libpatriot January 25th, 2017 at 23:23
“Continued DEA raids on medicinal marijuana” Sure, but it’s the job of Congress, not the President, to change the law. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2016/08/11/dea-marijuana-remains-illegal-under-federal-law/88550804/

Finally: “Kept giving Blackwater contracts”–Big Rick Crude. True, just like Bush. https://www.thenation.com/article/blackwaters-new-sugar-daddy-obama-administration/ But I stand by the things I listed as being Obama accomplishments in my original post , because THEY’RE true, as well.
