Esquire: Trump may evict press from White House

Posted by | January 15, 2017 10:00 | Filed under: Media/Show Business News Behaving Badly Politics

Dislocating the media may be the plan.

According to three senior officials on the transition team, a plan to evict the press corps from the White House is under serious consideration by the incoming Trump Administration. If the plan goes through, one of the officials said, the media will be removed from the cozy confines of the White House press room, where it has worked for several decades. Members of the press will be relocated to the White House Conference Center—near Lafayette Square—or to a space in the Old Executive Office Building, next door to the White House.

“There has been no decision,” Sean Spicer, Trump’s press secretary, said about the plan today. But Spicer acknowledged that “there has been some discussion about how to do it.”

Spicer cast the possible relocation of the press corps as a matter, in part, of logistics. “There’s been so much interest in covering a President Donald Trump,” he said. “A question is: Is a room that has forty-nine seats adequate? When we had that press conference the other day, we had thousands of requests, and we capped it at four hundred. Is there an opportunity to potentially allow more members of the media to be part of this? That’s something we’re discussing.”

Another senior official, however, suggested a more pointed motivation for the move. According to the official, the potential relocation reflected a view within the transition team that coverage of Trump has been so hostile as to indicate that the press has abandoned its role as neutral observer.

“They are the opposition party,” a senior official says. “I want ’em out of the building. We are taking back the press room.”

New rules of conduct go into effect on Jan. 20:
    1) Trump Administration’s political opponents are not to speak unless spoken to.
    2) Criticism of Herr Trump by the media is henceforth verboten.
    3) Only those members of the news media who have demonstrated their complete loyalty and devotion to their new glorious Leader shall be granted access to the White House.

Donnie’s fascist regime is shaping up pretty much as we had feared.

      And you are not kidding…
Thats how the Russian media has been treated since Putin held both of the most powerful offices in Russia…(for so many years I forget)
And of course Trump wants to be just like Putin, no accountability no questions asked and make huge profits while ruling.

If you write something that displease him, he might have your head cut off, like ISIS. I don’t put ANYTHING pass him. Well, people said they wanted a change, now they are going to get it. I can’t wait until he cut SS and Medicaid. Those people that voted for this rich, POS is going do a job on them.

Now Maggot Trump has a thin skinned press secretary like him. I can’t listen/watch this guy…he’s like Palin, terrible on the eyes and ears.

Spicer makes me want to spit on my screen…
He is like finger nails on a chalk board.

  3. StoneyCurtisll January 15th, 2017 at 11:00

    I have a better idea….
Why doesn’t the press just stop covering all things Trump and see how he likes that…
    His ego would implode.

would be nice if the American people did not have to gaze upon the urine colored buffoon every single F’ing time you go online and or turn on the republican news channels.

In order to make room for the incoming Russian advisory team..
The media will be removed from the cozy confines of the White House press room, where it
has worked for several decades. Members of the press will be relocated
to the White House Conference Center—near Lafayette Square—or to a space
in the Old Executive Office Building, next door to the White House.

Google a picture of Putins Press Conference. Trump is following his model.
Meanwhile if anyone says there were 500 people at the presser then they are lying. The room has exactly 49 seats which are assigned by a Press Committee chaired right now by Reuters.

Trump wants the press out for our house.

That PC wasn’t held in the White House but in the lobby of Trump Tower.

Not trying to make a comparison but that was one of the first things Jesse Ventura did after he became governor of Minnesota

“coverage of Trump has been so hostile as to indicate that the press has abandoned its role as neutral observer.”

    That sounds more like it.
The role of the press is now no longer supposed to be neutral or in this case, neutered.
Herr president elect opened and kicked over that can of worms all by himself.

    • muffler January 15th, 2017 at 12:56

      “The President
is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He
should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted
by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in
rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a
whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full
liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is
exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when
he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base
and servile. To announce that there must be no
criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President,
right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally
treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should
be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to
tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one
      else.” Teddy Roosevelt.

Imagine that, coming from a republican no less.

Something the Mandarin molester should consider.
Richard Nixon started a war with the media. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/e9b3f256cfb0fed9233b28e1761324b504bbfa6eee586ac686a6d5c09fdd4b18.jpg

Maybe if the Reichfuhrer spits on the press enough some of them turn into journalists — if only to take revenge.

    • whatthe46 January 15th, 2017 at 20:10

that’s exactly what it’s going to take for them to actually report the truth. they’ve kissed his ass for nearly 2 years with free coverage and now he’s pissing on them. they all get what they deserve.

      • Willys41 January 15th, 2017 at 21:17

Frankly, I think we’ll be lucky if anyone reports just a part of the truth. So far there’s more truth on YouTube than anywhere else, all in the form of videos of the sewage pouring out of Trump’s facehole.

  10. blueeyedcuban January 15th, 2017 at 15:55

I think he’s already done that… at least with CNN..

  11. amersham1046 January 15th, 2017 at 16:50

Why have a press room when he has Twitter (no nasty questions to answer)

  12. Willys41 January 15th, 2017 at 21:15

When Trump finds out he has to pay for his meals at the WH he’ll probably “evict” the entire kitchen staff and bring in his own cooks and hotel slop. Then when it’s time for the state dinners he can charge the US taxpayer and make money on the “deal.”
