Alabama bathroom bill would mandate attendants

Posted by | January 10, 2017 08:10 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

You may have someone watching you in the bathroom.

Next month, Senator Phil Williams will introduce the Alabama Privacy Act, according to our news partners at AL.com.

The bill will require bathrooms and changing rooms to either be exclusive to one gender or open to all genders. Bathrooms that are open to all genders must be staffed by an attendant at all times.

According to the bill, any public institution the leaves bathrooms unattended could be hit with fines ranging from $2,000 to $3,500 and face potential lawsuits.

what’d you expect from a red state that’s named for Alan and POTUS Obama?

More of those high paying jobs republicans are known for creating.
what’s next …? A federal agency dedicated to enforcement with a $10 mil budget.

Probably easier to just go round back by the dumpster …

so i see AL hasn’t learned a damn thing from NC with their stupid bathroom bill. i hope that they are hit with the same boycott that NC faced and loose revenue as well.

will they be required to wipe?

    • Suzanne McFly January 10th, 2017 at 11:36

I want to know if people will be forced to wash their hands after they use the bathroom. That is the real crime.

One could always change the name on the ID.

For example it would not be difficulty to change Glen into Glenda.

Ed Wood did it, and he got away with it.

Hope they’ll be providing gas masks for workers.

“The bill will require bathrooms and changing rooms to either be exclusive to one gender or open to all genders.” How does this change anything? Aren’t virtually all bathrooms exclusively male or female? I’ve never seen an all-gender bathroom.

a small expense for truly clean living alabamans – but keep these freaks inside the alabama wall.

This is what stood out the most for me….
The bill/law will be called “Alabama Privacy Act”..
Nothing like having looking over your shoulder to make your you are of the proper gender.

  11. StoneyCurtisll January 10th, 2017 at 11:14

Looks like republicans have finally figured out how to create jobs…

    • whatthe46 January 10th, 2017 at 13:35

i wouldn’t take that job even if it offered 6 figures.

    Is this an employment bill?

  13. danielistical January 10th, 2017 at 13:32

This Man dressing up as a woman to gain access to a women’s bathroom is not all that common a crime in fact there is not one single case and certainly not common enough to have another silly law on the books that serve not much of a problem, If this was any re occurring problem say like SCHOOL SHOOTING I could understand having more school shooting laws but Bathroom gender impersonation seems to be more on these stupid peoples mind….That is your main concern the biggest problem in THE STATE? How many poor people are DYING from lack of health care, How many CHILDREN ore underfed and getting sick from malnutrition? How many people in your state are working 40-50 or 60 hours a week and cant afford a roof over their heads?

while they are concerned about men going into the ladies room, the real threat to anyone in public restrooms are male children in male restrooms by adult men.

  14. Warman1138 January 10th, 2017 at 13:34

At least they found a way to gainfully employ…..gropers and grabbers, perverts, pedophiles and voyeurs……..really, who else would want a job watching people in restrooms?

  15. toadUso January 10th, 2017 at 15:31

So these are the jobs they are creating!

Her use of a bathroom stall in a ladies room seems appropriate. Why do they want her in the men’s room? What’s the agenda here? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/6d479bc1922db63db6ad3fcde9785a7d29ca42e699b30bbaf309772d46098cc6.jpg
