Wall could cost up to $38 billion

Posted by | January 7, 2017 07:30 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

There is no guarantee that Mexico will pay.

Republicans in Congress are beginning to grapple with how to help President-elect Donald Trump fulfill one of his biggest campaign promises: to build a wall along the Mexican border to slow illegal immigration.

Trump is expected to ask Congress to provide the initial funding for the massive project, estimated to cost between $12 billion and $38 billion.

Once construction gets underway, Trump has said he will demand reimbursement from the Mexican government, even though Mexican officials have said they will refuse to cooperate.

I will never understand how anyone took this seriously. What does he plan to do when Mexico says no? Invade Mexico? It shows how little thought went he put into his campaign, and how little his supporters thought before deciding to vote for him. No critical thinking involved on either side.

We already invaded Mexico in 1847 and some Idiot gave it back to them.

ok then…It seems the republicans in congress are going to find the money to build the wall, from where they always find their money, from the poor, the downtrodden, and those who can least afford taxes…we are entering a new era of partisan warfare…Trump called me his enemy…I am…I will be resisting…the GOP has considered me their enemy as well…this has gotten personal…there will be no republican safe from my voice, my emails, my snail mail…I think this is were we are headed…We the people, have to force those in our government to govern for us…not against us, as is it starting to look like…I suggest that every one go read the document, https://www.indivisibleguide.com/
this gives us a clue on how to resist, without guns…

Trump and congressional Republicans are not against massive federal spending, per se. That is a fallacy.

They are against significant federal spending on programs to which they are ideologically opposed. Spend a trillion dollars invading other nations (especially in the Middle East), and it’s all good.

Spend hundreds of billions more to ramp up a global nuclear arms race or squander tens of billions to build a border wall, and they’ll call it an act of patriotism.

Spend ten dollars on saving lives through planned parenthood and that is ” HORRIBLE “.

I just watched the Netflix series “Versailles” about Louis XIV of France, and how he sought the support of nobles by not taxing them, but placed the burden on the poor and working classes, all the while seeking to expand his territory through wars and intrigue, to enrich himself, and keep his lavish lifestyle. Louis, however, actually had a brain and could strategize, while tRumplethinskin is just a raving and self indulgent toddler.
