Republicans readying Obamacare repeal with no replacement ready

Posted by | December 29, 2016 11:13 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

They’ve had years to figure out a replacement and haven’t done it.

The first major act of the unified Republican government in 2017 will be a vote in Congress to begin tearing down Obamacare.

But the euphoria of finally acting on a long-sought goal will quickly give way to the reality that Republicans — and President-elect Donald Trump — have no agreement thus far on how to replace coverage for about 20 million people who gained insurance under the health-care law.

“They haven’t come to a consensus in the House and the Senate about the possible replacement plans,” said Douglas Holtz-Eakin, a conservative economist and former adviser to Senator John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign. “They don’t know Point B.”

So the fact that millions will suddenly be without health insurance again doesn’t matter at all to them. It’s important to eliminate the most important legacy of the black president.

The Dems have to start shouting and fighting…IF they repeal the ACA, it also repeals the regulations on the rest of the insurance industry…it will negatively effect those with employer insurance…as well…so, this is not just about the poor folks, who are going to suffer the worst of it…it is all of those who think they are immune…who will see bad stuff happening to them…unintended consequences…can be a problem…but if you are well off, it won’t matter…

    1. Administrations since Teddy Roosevelt attempted to get healthcare coverage for Americans.
    2. President Obama was the only one who succeeded and his plan was primarily based on a republican one.
    3. They have no alternative plan.
Conservatives care nothing about American families because it’s only about tarnishing Obama’s legacy.

They want a rightwing utopia with dead bodies in the gutters of third world America, the ones who couldn’t afford food or healthcare.

Of course, we all know the Republican Party’s position on health care reform:
Phase 1 — kill the current legislation.
Phase 2 — Status quo. Do nothing.

The Congressional Republican version of health care insurance reform continues to be the equivalent of vaporware. Long on nebulous generalizations laden with party ideology, short on substance and specifics.

Even so, the GOP’s plan is better … if you never get sick or injured, if you are extremely wealthy, or if you have a major financial stake in the private health insurance industry.

Ah, let the fckrs do it.

The millions who voted them in will be punished for voting against their own best interests which unfortunately will be the same for those who didn’t.

Hopefully, the fckng repukes’ own families will suffer just as well along with the millions.

Most of those who voted for Trump benefit
the most from the ACA, lets hope they end up
getting what they voted for, hope the most pain
will be in the rural parts of the red states,
the GOP has been against the ACA for 8 years
and it’s time for them to put up or shut up,
either they replace it with something better or
in the next couple of election cycles, lose the
Presidency and congress, thanks to the GOP
party, profiting from sick people happens only
one place on earth: America, rich people live
and poor people die early is what they want.

put up or shut up, that says it all

You would think that this would result in millions of people holding a grudge against the party that took their healthcare. In four years, they will have been deluged by the right-wing and corporate media treating it as a logical assumption that it is somehow Obama’s and Hillary’s and/or Dems fault. So a significant percentage will STILL vote for the people who actually screwed them.
