SC gun-and-Confederate flag-loving lawmaker allegedly beat and pointed gun at wife

He was just released from jail.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office charged Rep. Chris Corley (R) with first-degree domestic violence and pointing and presenting a firearm for the Monday incident, according to the Post and Courier. The newspaper reported that Corley was released after posting $20,000 bail on the condition that he have no contact with his wife or be in possession of a firearm.

According to an incident report obtained by the Post and Courier, Corley’s wife told police that he punched her in the face repeatedly in front of two children, aged 2 and 8, after he had been “caught cheating.” She alleged that he only stopped hitting her when the children began screaming and he saw blood coming from her head. Corley then allegedly retrieved a handgun from a vehicle outside, pointed it at her, and said he was going to kill himself before going into a bedroom, according to his wife.

The two federal charges Corley faces carry a maximum collective sentence of 15 years in prison.

The Palmetto State Republican made national headlines last year for his strong support for keeping the Confederate battle flag at the Statehouse after Dylann Roof’s racially-motivated murder of nine parishioners at a historically black church in Charleston.

i got into an argument with one of those guys about the stupidity of not wanting better gun control laws. didn’t go so well. for him. he had the audacity to tell me NRA members are not violent, and they are blah, blah, blah, and i said, sure. so, i linked 3 article, and there’s more right, of “upstanding” NRA members who were outspoken about it, and all, yet killed their own children or wife and then themselves. after each article that he responded to he said, “bullsh!t.” well, why, i didn’t make it up. they have serious emotional problems.

I read some of the comments on that article, and a lot of the guys (all guys) took it way too seriously. They have no idea what fools they are making of themselves.

Did he give you the crazy ramblings about how guns don’t kill people, hippy. People kill people. and Hitler was into gun control too, jerk! Why do you love Hitler so much? etc etc.

What about the “good guy with a gun delusion ? Did he lay that one on ya.

or the ever popular “they could have done that with a knife”

or my favorite one I hear at the bar all the time; “My gun does not compensate for my tiny penis”.

    But Trump won.
Doesn’t that mean this type of behavior is now acceptable?
