UPS accidentally delivers assault rifle instead of toy airplane

Posted by | December 16, 2016 13:49 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly

A New York couple was horrified when a gun showed up.

Joel Berman opened the keyboard-sized case in front of his wife and 6-year-old granddaughter Wednesday night in Oceanside, on Long Island.

Instead of a toy plane they were buying for their friend’s son, they found a semi-automatic rifle, scope, stand, ammo clip and copies of an Arizona man’s driver’s license and concealed-weapons permit.

They hustled their granddaughter out of the room and called police, who picked up the weapon.

Read a story that described this as a “50 caliber assault weapon” — a concept I’m still waiting to hear explained lol.

    Give UPS a break…
They have no idea whats in a package they deliver….
Unless you want them to open every thing they get and inspect it contents…(no one wants that)

Maybe the driver grabbed the wrong package and left it at the wrong house. It would be an easy mistake at this time of year, they are working long and hard right now. I hope the driver doesn’t lose their job, pretty sure it was an honest mistake.

The recipients of the package UPS dropped off should have checked the name and mailing address of the intended recipient before opening the package…(they opened some other persons mail/package)…

But… if they deliver something to you that you did not order, you don’t HAVE to give it back.
