Huntington, IN mayor: My town’s losing Carrier jobs

Posted by | December 7, 2016 12:40 | Filed under: Politics Radio Interviews

Mayor Brooks Fetters, a Republican, spoke to me on radio Tuesday night.

Fetters told me that he’s seen Indianapolis get the most out of the deal as opposed to his own town and added that he still has to wonder how $7 million in tax breaks could be considered a punishment for a company that wanted to move jobs to Mexico. Fetters also said he has tried to meet with Vice President-Elect Pence, and he will continue to “keep my hand up to show them Huntington is still here.”

Carrier jobs saved? it was nothing more than
a bribe to keep 800 jobs here, 1400 jobs are
still going to Mexico, this deal is no
comparison to Obama rescuing an entire
    manufacturing industry (autos) which is
    vital to our economy!!
