Paul Ryan unanimously chosen for second term as Speaker

Posted by | November 15, 2016 14:25 | Filed under: Politics

Republicans united behind him following the Trump election.

Rep. Chris Collins of New York, who was the first House member to back Trump for president, gave one of the nominating speeches on Ryan’s behalf in the closed-door session of Republican members Tuesday afternoon.

Donald Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan were not particularly close during the election. But Trump’s victory has helped to save Ryan’s job.

Just before Election Day, members openly questioned Ryan’s effectiveness in the role of speaker, but they emerged from a meeting Monday supporting the Wisconsin Republican, saying he would face no challengers for the post.

I get the feeling that in a year or two Ryan is going to wish he didn’t have the job. Midterms 2018 are a coming and I bet they aren’t going to be pretty for the GOP.

Wishful thinking I’m afraid. It has been proven time after time that Dems don’t show up to vote in mid term elections…

I bet there will be a lot more motivation this time around.

          For the country’s sake I hope you’re right…

That would depend on the damage inflicted in the two years.

when Medicaid and Medicare has been privatized, and SSI is on the cutting block next, you may see some of the less than educated start to pay attention…But at this point in time, there are a few Trumpers going around telling us that as Democrats, we should go kill ourselves, to save them the trouble later on…I think this may be a red flag, for events yet to come….I am guessing that we will be living under martial law by July 4th…the civil unrest will unhinge Trump and his gang of brownshirts….the fight is on…I am now concealed carrying everywhere I go…

I totally believe The Pu**y Grabber In Chief will crack down on demonstrators by martial law and severe punishment. The path to a Nazi regime has only just begun….

Lying Ryan is now officially the babysitter that has to keep an eye on pumpkin head.

Any improprieties any bribes, any business conducted on the taxpayers time must be reported immediately to the people.

Now Paulie, go home and get your shine box.

  3. anothertoothpick November 15th, 2016 at 17:44

And remember Paulie. Everyday ask the question

“Mr. President, where are the jobs”

Until the pumpkin head gets unemployment below 4.9% like it is now.

Tree stand and all Paul is ready for more paid family leave. That’s why we have Dems to take the blame when something goes wrong

#MAGA Republican leadership will make our crumbling country great again!!!

It’s funny, liberals moderators keep removing my posts. I’ve haven’t cursed on here, despite being cursed at. I haven’t hurled insults despite having insults hurled at me. So I guess when you can’t defeat someone through debate, you silence them.

    At least they’re consistent.

      You’re kinda sensitive huh?

    • oldfart November 16th, 2016 at 09:47

      Yeah, we’re funny like that.
We usually prefer people to show a little more intelligence before they start raving.
If you prefer, we can also start providing you with down votes. I have yet to use one even for people like you.

      • anothertoothpick November 16th, 2016 at 09:51

I don’t think that down vote thing works anymore.

        I know it used to.

        • oldfart November 16th, 2016 at 14:05

I intend to start using it more often as the occasion requires it.
I assume it will stick to his DISQUS account like glue.
And even if it doesn’t, I felt better for using it.
          He MOST CERTAINLY deserved it.

Trump is already courting asswipes like Giuliani and Newtered (gag) Gingrich to cabinet positions. What’s one more?
