Chomsky: Republican Party ‘the most dangerous organization in world history’

Noam Chomsky is concerned that this party will have control of all branches of government.

“On November 8, the most powerful country in world history, which will set its stamp on what comes next, had an election,” Chomsky said. “The outcome placed total control of the government — executive, Congress, the Supreme Court — in the hands of the Republican Party, which has become the most dangerous organization in world history.”

Chomsky claimed that the impact on climate science alone was frightening.

“The winning candidate, now the president-elect, calls for rapid increase in use of fossil fuels, including coal; dismantling of regulations; rejection of help to developing countries that are seeking to move to sustainable energy; and in general, racing to the cliff as fast as possible, ” he said before adding, “It is hard to find words to capture the fact that humans are facing the most important question in their history — whether organized human life will survive in anything like the form we know — and are answering it by accelerating the race to disaster.”

Turning to how it was that Trump came to be elected, the lecturer and author said no one should be surprised and that he has been warning of a Trump-like demagogue for years.

Thank you protesters! they show the rest
of the world that not all of us here are like
the crazy people who voted for dRump,
what we’re seeing is lots of patriots
standing up for the true American values
that all of us were raised with, they are
protesting the election of a tyrant who
    threatens those values.

Nor is armed takeover of federal lands. Or HB2. Or gerrymandering. Or voter suppression. These are tools of the right, but NOT American Values.

you mean the shit the teabaggers pulled in 2010 when they were sending death threats to members of Congress & smashing Congressman Bart Stupak’s office windows over health care reform?

One old man’s flawed and biased opinion. “Most dangerous” often translates as “most protective”. One of the “most dangerous” situations in the world is getting between mama bear and her cubs: deadly to the human interloper while being life saving to the cubs. It’s just a matter of perspective.

One time Texas Ranger Charlie Miller was once asked if the 45 auto with hammer cocked back dangling from his belt was dangerous. Miller replied, I wouldn’t carry it if it wasn’t dangerous … or more colorful words to that effect.

In a world that’s as dangerous as the one we live in, I’ll take the dangerous GOP any day. We all need to remember, to the Nazis, George Patton was dangerous, so was Dwight Eisenhower. I could go on and on but rational people get the picture.
