Sen. Tom Cotton: I ‘strongly support’ Trump’s wall and forcing cities to turn over immigrants

Posted by | November 9, 2016 19:20 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton may be disappointed if there is no wall and millions of undocumented immigrants aren’t deported.

…Cotton appeared on CNN with Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday night to discuss the election result that gave the United States President Donald Trump.

Blitzer asked Cotton how he would respond if Trump offered him a spot in his administration. “He’s going to need a lot of allies in the Senate when it comes to the military and building the wall and repealing Obamacare,” Cotton said.

Assuming that Donald Trump is going to be President of the United States on January 20th,” Blizter started, “and immediately wants to start building that wall, and immediately is going to demand that Mexico is going to pay for that wall, where do you stand on that?”

Cotton responded, “Donald Trump promised that we’re going to build a wall. We’ve needed one for a long time. We need more than that. We need to enforce immigration laws, we need to eliminate sanctuary cities, where cities have illegal immigrants that they don’t turn over to federal authorities.”

I ‘strongly support’ Canada’s 55,000 foot high border wall keeping out U.S. Air traveling immigrants!

Shouldn’t GOP rethink that fantasy based upon Factbased Reality? E.g. 77% of undocs overstay their Airplane travel Tourist Visas into America! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/65c2b1c0acdb9a2790eb45fe03c3358e187eda9663b00f2793936d7d0fffb20b.gif

This is the same guy who wants to bring waterboarding to a police station near you.

    • Larry Schmitt November 9th, 2016 at 20:35

And worse. In spite of the fact that it doesn’t work.

  5. Larry Schmitt November 9th, 2016 at 20:34

So with all the problems facing the country (Trump said we’re in terrible shape, his whole campaign was based on it), he’s going to use many billions of dollars building some stupid wall (and Mexico will not pay for it, let’s get that clear from the beginning. What are they going to do, send in the Army to steal the money from the Central Bank?), money that could be better used to both fix our bridges, roads, etc., and provide jobs, which he also said he would do. I could spend all day shooting holes in his agenda, but what’s the point?

    • Foundryman November 9th, 2016 at 20:39

If they want to build a wall, the least they can do is get the financing for it before it’s started, not after it’s done. It’s the republicans who refuse to fund anything before they know how it’s going to be paid for, even unemployment or job training…

      • Larry Schmitt November 9th, 2016 at 20:42

They don’t even want to pay debts already committed to. Debt ceiling anyone? I bet most of them still don’t understand what the debt ceiling even means, but they continue to vote to not raise it when it’s necessary.

Remember the anti Iran treaty letter he wrote?

Trump has claimed he is going to tear up that threat and if he does Iran will start up their nuclear facility again.

    Tom, (Heinrich Himmler) Cotton….

Alan said “he doesn’t live in a country asking people to show the paper”.
Last time I went to the US, they ask me to show the paper! and the paper is not cheap too. I wonder what country Alan is living in?

“how can you know who is here legally who is not?”
well, ask them to show the paper, show the book just like the USA and almost
every country in the world has been doing for many many year.

I just don’t understand what country Alan is living in! or may be he has never been in and out of the country? if he has ever been out of the country, he should have seen lines at the airports where people wait to show the immigration officers the book and paper. In the book and the paper, it will show officer stamp and date indicates how long you can stay in the country. then when they leave the country, the office will check if anyone over stay, etc and all of those information will be recorded in the immigration database…. The book and paper are call passport and visa. And every or almost every country in this world call earth are using it. Where is Alan? He host a talk-show from.. Mars?

    • anothertoothpick November 9th, 2016 at 20:57

Did trumps wife the super model show the paper?

    • StoneyCurtisll November 9th, 2016 at 20:59

Apparently you are not from the USA…
      Or understand the 4th Amendment…
And isn’t “Inspire” the name of the ISIL publication/Web site?

      • inspire November 9th, 2016 at 21:03

          • inspire November 9th, 2016 at 21:07

            you?
I am telling the truth (the visa and passport). i can not question things when i think it is not right?

            • Inspiration November 9th, 2016 at 22:27

“And isn’t “Inspire” the name of the ISIL publication/Web site?”

The great Mexican roundup and the ultimate wall, yeah, that’ll work. Ignorance and arrogance, peas and carrots.

  9. granpa.usthai November 9th, 2016 at 23:38

Too bright a light and jackboots in the night.

  13. fahvel November 10th, 2016 at 04:19

how does “making america great again” equate with paranoia and meanness? Something terribly sad is going to arrive on your shores and it won’t be terrorists from the outside. You have them built in.

  14. Carla Akins November 10th, 2016 at 04:26

Uggh, all these deplorables that had slipped my mind.

    • Suzanne McFly November 10th, 2016 at 07:04

Yeah, this “win” did not shut them up and I have a feeling it won’t.

  15. allison1050 November 10th, 2016 at 10:32

If he can’t find the major city of Tehran on a fn map how is he supposed to know where to find the border for their wall?
