Gingrich: Hillary’s court could censor the Lord’s Prayer

Posted by | October 18, 2016 16:57 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Religion

Trump supporters have gone cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.

Claiming that recent WikiLeaks emails show that Clinton’s aides are “radically anti-religious” and “radically anti-Christian,” Gingrich said that this means that Clinton’s court picks would be “people who do not believe in the right of religious liberty, people who believe that the government should define what you’re allowed to say, even in church.”

“And, by the way,” he continued, “there’s an organization in Massachusetts now, a government commission on transgender rights, that’s looking at potentially defining for churches what kinds of pronouns they could use, raising the specter, for example, of eliminating ‘our Father’ from the Lord’s Prayer, because, after all, that’s a particular pronoun. This stuff, in my judgment, is madness, but nonetheless these are people who are dedicated, I think, fanatics who want to impose a secular America on the rest of us and who are willing to use the government to do it.”

    • Budda October 18th, 2016 at 17:26

Yes, he is nuts but we can’t ignore him and his ilk.

  2. alpacadaddy October 18th, 2016 at 17:16

“… I think, fanatics who want to impose a secular America on the rest of us and who are willing to use the government to do it.”

As opposed to Newt and his posse of RWNJ’s who want to impose their bastardized version of Christianity on the rest of us and who are willing to use the government to do it?

Do a modicum of research on the Founders beliefs and statements on that front, and then get back to me Newt!

    • Dwendt44 October 18th, 2016 at 17:31

This country started as a secular country, was designed as a secular country, was given a secular Constitution as it’s basis. The law of the land says specifically that this country was NOT founded on the christian religion.

      What’s Newt’s problem?

      • granpa.usthai October 18th, 2016 at 17:43

        reprobate guilt?

      • alpacadaddy October 18th, 2016 at 20:40

Jabba the Newt has far too many issues to address here, but I think it’s a safe bet to say that he see’s his Trump Cabinet post of Minister of Hypocrisy circling the drain!

  3. William October 18th, 2016 at 17:33

So the serial adulterer is suddenly worried about Christian principles.

  4. granpa.usthai October 18th, 2016 at 17:41

that’s only if adulterers are trying to force it on people who don’t commit the heinous act of wearing mixed fibers, Newton.

Howbeit, I can understand your personal fears – but – just dress normal, you’ll have nothing to worry about.

  5. Duke Woolworth October 18th, 2016 at 17:49

    Holy crap.

  6. mfr4 October 18th, 2016 at 18:35

yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if 6 people in Massachusetts out of a population approaching 7 million thought this was right. But the rest of them really do have step back and think ” is this position correct?” I’m damned if I know what the answer will be. What is wrong with America when this may even be a legitimate election question? Please, please, please vote Hillary and democrat for all the rest of us who can’t vote (I’m Canadian)

  7. StoneyCurtisll October 18th, 2016 at 18:43

Newt is so full of gas, if you put a spark next to him he might explode…
He just makes this nonsense up out of thin air…(government forcing changes to the lords prayer)…
    What is this?..
    The new “death panels”?

God I hope so. The sooner the better.

    • Mensa Member October 18th, 2016 at 23:37

So, you are both anti-Christian and un-American?

Supporting a ban on religious speech makes you both.

      • whatthe46 October 18th, 2016 at 23:44

gingrich is delusional. you can’t censure prayer in church.

      • jamesboyle63@gmail.com October 19th, 2016 at 06:07

Mensa member huh? It’s called sarcasm. But when I see and hear a prayer before during or after anything political, that goes against the separation of church and state. There’s no place for any religion in politics. So I guess if that makes me unamerican, what does that make you?

        • whatthe46 October 19th, 2016 at 06:25

          sometimes he’s off the rail.

  9. Suzanne McFly October 18th, 2016 at 19:45

I don’t give a crap about newt, he is just one human. However, thousands hear those words and believe them because it supports their hatred for Hillary. If something supports the anti-Hillary sentiment, they are on board regardless of it being false or true and that is where we need to focus our attention.

    • Larry Schmitt October 19th, 2016 at 09:18

He’s just one human? Do you have any evidence to support that?

      • Suzanne McFly October 19th, 2016 at 18:20

You think there is more than one newt? One is enough for me lol.

        • Larry Schmitt October 19th, 2016 at 18:38

No, I meant do you have proof that he’s human?

          • Suzanne McFly October 19th, 2016 at 19:47

Well to me, humans are the only beings that have proven themselves to be evil. I have never met a evil puppy in my life and I have been around a lot of them. :)

  10. oldfart October 18th, 2016 at 20:52

Ah hell newt, why should she stop there ?
She could also have you publically flogged…

  11. Foundryman October 18th, 2016 at 20:57

Another paranoid right wing nightmare, get rid of prayer, get rid of religion….let’s hope so! At least public prayer and religion.
Anyone should be spiritual or religious if they choose, just keep it inside of your home.

    • whatthe46 October 18th, 2016 at 21:35

in their homes or their “church” but not in our public schools or any public facility. if they want prayer in school, then it would take at least 30 mins or more before they finished the prayers of every child’s religion in that class or an hour for the entire school. no one is special.

      • Larry Schmitt October 19th, 2016 at 09:20

One of my favorite quotes (I wish I could remember who said it) goes, “If you want to see prayer in school, just come around during finals week.”

  12. katkelly57 October 18th, 2016 at 21:54

Our Father who art in Heaven, Harold be thy name…please grab this stupid mofo by the nuts and send him to another plane.
    Amen.

    • bpollen October 19th, 2016 at 04:43

“Father, if you are willing, take this Newt from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

      • katkelly57 October 19th, 2016 at 13:33

Eye of newt and toe of frog….

  13. Mensa Member October 18th, 2016 at 23:36

    Gingrich is shameless.

He’s smart enough to know that the fundamentalist persecution complex is a total load of crock.

    So, he lies.

And the irony is surely lost on him.

  14. robert October 19th, 2016 at 00:34

Observe only one god newt That’s the Republican way !

  15. amersham1046 October 19th, 2016 at 02:06

The GOP is no longer a viable political option, as the inmates have truly taken over the asylum

  16. bpollen October 19th, 2016 at 04:40

Newt… hahahah. A salamander makes predictions based on Alex Jones type “guilt by confabulation.”

  17. Clementine October 19th, 2016 at 07:48

I don’t know why Newty hates America, always fussing about that separation of church and state thing.

  18. Willys41 October 19th, 2016 at 13:16

Someone should declare Newton Leroy Gingrich non compos mentis.

  19. Warman1138 October 19th, 2016 at 18:04

I didn’t know it was national crazy day.

    • amersham1046 October 19th, 2016 at 18:33
