People in clown costumes have been trying to lure children.

Winston-Salem police say someone in a clown costume tried to lure kids into the woods Sunday night.

The incident happened in the 1200 block of East 29th Street off Hwy. 52 about 8:30 p.m.

The “clown” was described as wearing white overalls, white gloves, red shoes with red bushy hair, a white face and a red nose.

The suspect allegedly tried to lure the kids with treats. The suspect was reportedly seen by two children and heard, but not seen, by one adult. The suspect fled the area when officers arrived.

A second clown sighting happened just after midnight in the 1600 block of Hope Lane, two miles from the first sighting. Officers attempted to locate the subject but were unsuccessful.

I heard about this story on Breitbart about a month ago, seems we have some sick people or comedians! I just hope no kids fall for this trap!

if he wants to lure in children, he’s going about it the wrong way. 1. children are well known to be terrified of clowns; and 2. trying to lure children in the middle of the night when they are terrified of clowns in the first place, will not result in an abduction. they will run like crazy screaming. another thing, children aren’t out after midnight. i call this a joke.

“Officers attempted to locate the subject but were unsuccessful.”
…Is it just me or is anybody else having a hard time believing that ?!?

Oh! I realize now that I am confusing this guy with the original creepy night clown — the one in Green Bay.

So, maybe the copycats are already happening.

I gotta say, I admire this guy.

(…assuming he didn’t try to lure children. I doubt that claim. Pedophiles famously try to seem normal.)

He is doing exactly the right thing to start an urban legend. It would be super-cool if copycats started to make him seem omnipresent.
