Rep. John Lewis was on my radio show Monday night with Andrew Aydin and artist Nate Powell, with whom he write the March trilogy. It’s a visual story of Lewis’s struggles in the civil rights movement.

The civil rights icon tole me that no matter how much he was kicked beaten and spat upon, he never hated anyone who opposed him and and tried to stop the Civil Rights Movement.

Aydin and Powell talked about how they admire Rep. Lewis’ “ability to see hope in dark situations.” Lewis explained how Republicans are different now then they were in the 1960s, why both political parties seem to claim Dr. Martin Luther King’s as a member, and why, he believes Donald Trump will ultimately be rejected at the polls
