A video showing a black woman, Earledreka White, calling 911 dispatchers in Texas to plead for another officer to come to her own traffic stop before being roughly handled by the officer at the scene has been released, drawing comparisons to the treatment of Sandra Bland at a similar traffic stop last year. Bland, who was…

She gets no sympathy from me. She didn’t listen to the officer, didn’t obey his requests and resisted. Some people just don’t know how to behave.

What you saw is an uppity Negro put in her place and you’re fine with that.

      • Budda August 6th, 2016 at 16:10

No. I saw a citizen create her own problem. YOU are bringing race into this, not me.

        • Comicus August 6th, 2016 at 16:34

Yes, I am because it is a factor. It would have ended quite differently for a white woman. I know it and so do you.

          • Budda August 6th, 2016 at 19:48

That is speculation on your part….and shows a bias.

        • whatthe46 August 6th, 2016 at 17:16

how did she create her own problem? by being born black? if you haven’t been paying attention then let me explain, unarmed black men and women have been murdered at the hands of cops at traffic tops, she has a right to feel fear. this is why she called 911, she was yelling, she wasn’t being belligerent, she wasn’t in his face and she was requesting addition assistance. since she didn’t believe the stop was warranted, she has a right to question it.

but, who knows, maybe she crossed the solid white line, i think you get up to 10 years for that? /s

    • whatthe46 August 6th, 2016 at 17:10

she was not being threatening and she was on the phone with 911, he didn’t have to touch her. was she yelling at him? NO. he doesn’t belong on the job.

      • Budda August 6th, 2016 at 19:52

You are making excuses for her bad behavior. Did she get in the car when instructed? Did she listen and obey the officer? Yelling at him? no but she was arguing with him. You argue in court if you have any brains. If you think you don’t have to do what the officer REQUESTS then you bring on the consequences.

Again, some people don’t know how to behave and she is a good example of that.

        • whatthe46 August 6th, 2016 at 20:12

what bad behavior? she was on the phone with 911 and not yelling at him. and i didn’t hear him tell her to get in the car. besides she wasn’t a threat to him. if he is so donaldlized that his skin is thinner, then he needs to find a new career.

          • Budda August 6th, 2016 at 21:05

Watch the video again; was she co-operating? No she wasn’t. You don’t co-operate, expect consequences. That is not the way to behave during a traffic stop.

            • whatthe46 August 6th, 2016 at 21:11

              was she a threat?

              • Budda August 6th, 2016 at 22:04

                Not the point.

                • whatthe46 August 6th, 2016 at 22:19

it is the damn point. (upset, but still love ya) if you can’t deal with the public, then find another job. his over reacting to this situation is what was wrong. lets agree we disagree.

                  • Budda August 6th, 2016 at 22:26

She over reacted, not the officer.

                    Love ya too.

                    • whatthe46 August 7th, 2016 at 14:38

that didn’t work out so well for Philando Castile? not only was he being cooperative, he was being honest. and where is he now? so, the comic relief at the top, goes out the window.

                    • Budda August 7th, 2016 at 18:48

So what are you saying? That being co-operative and polite isn’t worth it? That you might as well be uncooperative, rude and antagonistic? I don’t understand your position/bias that cops will just kick your butt for no reason…or that being black will get you automatically abused.

                    • whatthe46 August 7th, 2016 at 19:06

you know darn well what i’m saying. you’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t.

                    • Budda August 7th, 2016 at 21:03

I don’t think that is true, the proof is that not all traffic stops of black citizens has resulted in beatings or deaths. Yes, I believe minorities face discrimination in ways white folks will never know. This thread is about the young lady who did not comply with the officer and the consequences of that behavior.

                    • whatthe46 August 7th, 2016 at 22:53

but, the majority of them are stopped for no reason. as long as she wasn’t a threat to him, he should have kept his composure . police officers need to have more training on patience. not everyone is the same and not every traffic stop will be the same. some be unremarkable, others not so much. i will say this though, i don’t understand why she got out of the car.

                    • Budda August 8th, 2016 at 07:13

He did keep his composure, she lost hers. The police investigated and said procedure was followed. During a traffic stop the officer is in charge, she did not comply, hence, the problem. Again, some folks just don’t behave properly at times and consequently they are responsible for escalating the incident.

Can we move on? I understand your concerns. Do you see mine?

                    • whatthe46 August 7th, 2016 at 19:06

and yes, being beaten by a cop for being black is almost a certainty.

                    • whatthe46 August 7th, 2016 at 22:55

ok, maybe i went a little overboard with that one. but, in all honesty, black males have a right to become paranoid when confronted by cops.

                    • Budda August 8th, 2016 at 07:13

                      I disagree with that statement.

  2. Red Mann August 6th, 2016 at 09:51

Yeah, she didn’t “obey” the officer, but why do cops think that they are allowed to be little dictators when their a$$ isn’t sufficiently kissed, especially traffic stops. Just because the officer decides so, all our Constitutional rights are stripped away in a second. More and more we are seeing the police becoming judges, jury and executioners on what is often a whim.
I can’t really blame a black person for being worried about being stopped by a white cop given the actions of a significant number of them. I keep hearing “Just do what they tell you. Just obey the officer.” When I was younger I was arrested twice, once in my own apartment, once outside a bar. Yeah, I’d been drinking, but in the first instance I was held by a couple of cops while another one slapped me around, that was 46 years ago. 20 years ago I was thrown to the ground before being cuffed.
I live in Virginia Beach VA and lived here during the police riots in the 80s when the cops got way out of hand, beating people freely. The hierarchy did nothing to stop it, it wasn’t until the command was changed that things improved.
There needs to be a hell of a lot more training and internal followup to weed out the bad cops. Jobs where authority is based simply on the job, like police, prison guards, nursing home orderlies and so on, attract too many people that love having unlimited power, love being able to control others, that tend to abuse their charges. I’ve met some really good cops who don’t want to knock heads at the slightest provocation and some that turn a small problem into a large one by their actions.

    • Suzanne McFly August 6th, 2016 at 10:47

It seems some cops approach ever situation as if their life is in danger, they should learn techniques about approaching someone who will not be a threat.Their jobs are at times, dangerous, but that is not a constant and some do their jobs like they are constantly in threat of losing their lives. That compromises the lives of other officers IMO. You never know how rational this person will be in a high-stress situation. This is a great article and a good chart that shows the decline in police fatality.

        Thanks for the graphic.

I have been planning to fact-check Trump’s claims that it’s never been more dangerous for cops.

Do any conservatives know that crime rates are generally down?

        • Suzanne McFly August 6th, 2016 at 17:06

Nope, they think their hair is on fire.

        • StoneyCurtisll August 7th, 2016 at 07:27

          No…
most people think there is a crime/terrorist wave here and now…
In the 1970’s there were far more acts of “terrorism” world wide than there are today..
More bombings, planes being hijacked, cops being killed in the line of duty and overall violent crimes committed…

      • StoneyCurtisll August 7th, 2016 at 07:22

        Excellent graph…
So much for the “war on police”…

        • Suzanne McFly August 7th, 2016 at 08:14

It is a perceived war, kind of like the war on Christmas but completely different than the real war on women.

  3. crc3 August 6th, 2016 at 11:36

Really not enough information here to form an opinion. Video doesn’t show what happened BEFOREHAND. Way too many instances of cops doing the wrong things but in this case…I just don’t know…

    • whatthe46 August 6th, 2016 at 17:04

i don’t know why she got out of the car, but, the fact that she wasn’t making any threatening moves and on the phone wasn’t cause for him to touch her. this just clearly shows that he doesn’t have any patience. there was absolutely no reason for him to handle her that way.

Texas , almost to be expected
