Blacks are 12% of the population. we have a big problem and we need to fix it no more games.

These protests won’t accomplish a thing (as always) other than making this issue more visible and pissing off drivers. What needs to change is the culture within the police force and the lack of accountability. Until these things are changed, this problem will continue.

      protests does work though.

The alternative (doing nothing) is worse.

I credit the anti-war protests with getting us out of Vietnam. Continuing to make war became a political liability.

After what happened Thursday in TX, I wonder if these folks are careless or incredibly brave. I’m going to say it is the latter.

    • whatthe46 July 9th, 2016 at 15:53

      i agree. brave.

      • mistlesuede July 9th, 2016 at 15:58

I was worried for their safety.

        • whatthe46 July 9th, 2016 at 16:11

          from whom though?

          • mistlesuede July 10th, 2016 at 01:04

            Like what happened in TX.

but from whom? the cops, a lone gunman? targeting who?

              • mistlesuede July 10th, 2016 at 02:06

Messed up people who are all riled up. One or more snipers. Personally, I would not put it past Trump to cause more problems. He’s all about “Keep America Safe Again” now. The more worry and concern the public has about these shootings of anyone, the more he can lay the blame on PO which makes no sense, but fear is what kept Bush in office for two terms. They used it perfectly.

bush cheated to get in the second time. this we know. i’m asking sweetie, who do you believe would be the targets? aside from that, we can’t let anyone stop us from gathering so that the right thing can be done. we wouldn’t be having these protests if the police would STOP policing themselves and an independent agency (non-bias) would. if “good” police were made to feel comfortable and “safe” in turning another they know is unfit, then there would be a massive overhaul. all of those that are participating in the protest, know very well that a family member of there’s could be next.

                  • mistlesuede July 10th, 2016 at 12:01

I believe the targets would be whites and police officers to get his racist base even more worked up.
Good point about an independent agency overseeing all of this. I can only imagine the right wing outcry that would come over that suggestion. Most cops are GOP, so they would flip out and the party would support them.
