Benghazi committee misses self-imposed deadline to issue report

Posted by | June 21, 2016 10:40 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

After more than two years, a promised report “before summer” isn’t happening.

The panel’s chairman, Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., now says “the committee is working overtime to complete the investigation” and will “issue a report as soon as possible.” Clinton, who was secretary of state at the time of the deadly 2012 attacks, is expected to be nominated for president at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in five weeks…

Gowdy, who has been dogged by charges of partisanship since the inquiry began in May 2014, disputed Democrats’ contention that the Republican-led investigation is focused on Clinton, saying in a statement that the panel’s work encompasses a host of federal agencies, including the Defense and State departments, the CIA, the White House and the intelligence community.

Could it be because they have nothing new to report?

Poor Trey. He is really, really, really upset that he has been unable to uncover any compelling evidence to support his preconceived notions regarding the events that transpired before, during, and after the Benghazi tragedy.

Gowdy and his GOP cronies would have already fleshed out the details of this alleged scandal more thoroughly, however they ran out of “whole cloth”.

The poor republicans can’t get any more traction out of this fake scandal.

    • The Original Just Me June 21st, 2016 at 22:39

      Gee, that didn’t take much.

He most likely wants to have the report released as close to the election as possible. He probably figures it will hurt Hillary because he will have it worded in a way that makes it seem like she is guilty of something and yet if people could read it in its entirety, they would realize he has nothing like many have said since the beginning.

    • The Original Just Me June 21st, 2016 at 22:38

Here, I will give you a copy of the entire report; ” Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi, Hillary, Hillary, Hillary, Bad, Bad, Bad. Okay, that sums up the Seven Million Dollar Investigation.

That is what I would expect.

  7. The Original Just Me June 21st, 2016 at 22:35

So a Republican Congressional Report is Long Over Due. Big Deal, Business as usual.

Far be it from us, the Ben Ghazi Committee, to suggest that Secretary committed any crimes, but we intend to imply the hell out of it.
