Ed Asner: Trump appeals to a ‘fascist element’

Actor and activist Ed Asner talked to me on radio Wednesday night about the 2016 presidential race. He told me Donald Trump appeals to a “fascist element” in the country, but wouldn’t go so far as to call Trump a fascist. Asner also said Trump has been given power from a “clamoring mob,” that he was glad for Bernie Sanders’ contribution to the race, and Hillary Clinton is definitely better than Donald Trump although she needs “some improvement.”

Of course he appeals to a ‘fascist’ element…the Republican party has been leaning that way for years. Don- the- Con has just given the dim-witted a voice to their fascist ways.

Fascism grows up and seeks consensus by exploring and exacerbating the natural fear of difference.

An appeal against the intruders. Thus Fascism is racist by definition.
