Trump falsely claims ‘no system’ for vetting refugees

And the lies just keep on coming.

Trump claimed in a speech Monday that “hundreds of thousands of refugees” are flowing into the United States, with “no system” in place to vet them – a claim that’s repeatedly been dispelled as false.
On the heels of the deadliest shooting in American history, Trump attacked Democrat Hillary Clinton during a talk in New Hampshire, accusing her of a plan to admit “hundreds of thousands of refugees from the Middle East with no system to vet them or to prevent the radicalization of the children and their children.”

“We are not screening people. So why don’t we have an effective screening system? We don’t. We’re being laughed at all over the world,” the billionaire businessman continued.

Joined by his fellow Republicans, Trump has for months trumpeted the notion that a weak vetting process allows terrorists posing as refugees to enter the country through porous borders.

But according to a fact-check by Politifact, refugees seeking asylum in the U.S. must first undergo an eligibility process that lasts four to 10 months, a security clearance that can also require several rounds, an in-person interview, a green light from Homeland Security, and then a final security check before they’re cleared to enter.

That intensive process can take anywhere from 18 months to two years to complete, according to Politifact.

The truth is that the refugees are being vetted more thoroughly than the republican candidate for president.

I take more time selecting my toilet paper than they did selecting their candidate. This type of hate speech is not new to rump, he has been spewing bile for years.

Ironically, toilet paper is more useful and less vile

          Even after it’s been used.

Can you imagine being one of the people fleeing Syria to come here to start over and you hear this ba$tard demonizing your religion? And he is doing that as the rest of us are asking them to assimilate within our society. All rump is doing is creating hate that will lead to death whether it is suicide or murder.

America’s Muslim citizens are essential in keeping us safe from these homegrown terrorists.

And, in that regard, Trump has made us much less safe.

      • Suzanne McFly June 14th, 2016 at 12:35

Exactly, we need them to be the eyes and ears for their extremists just like we need this for any other group as they “police” their extremists.

This is what they say on Fox News, so Trump voters still won’t know how ignorant their favorite candidate is.
