He knew it wouldn’t sit well with a number of fans.

Trey Pearson is the lead singer of Everyday Sunday, which has sold about 250,000 albums in 15 years, and the group’s 2009 album, “Best Night of Our Lives,” managed to break out of the Christian music charts and onto the Billboard 200 chart.

The 35-year-old Pearson acknowledged to fans that he is gay in an interview with (614) Magazine, an entertainment and culture publication in Columbus, Ohio, and he also spoke to Religion News about his acceptance of his own sexual orientation.

“I never wanted to be gay,” he wrote in a letter to fans published by (614). “I was scared of what God would think and what all of these people I loved would think about me, so it was never an option for me.”

Don’t worry, a great number of your fans are gay too.

Don’t worry, Trey. The Christian god is loving and merciful. That’s why he’s sending you straight to a fiery hell, where you’ll burn in torment forever. Sorry toots. No “get out of jail free” in the afterlife.

Risks career? No, he ended it. I remember King’s X. While they didn’t regard themselves as a Christian band, they were heavily promoted in Christian book stores. After their lead singer acknowledged his homosexuality, their albums vanished, never to be mentioned again.

I killed my own career over the gay issue — and I’m not even gay.

I spent decades working in an Evangelical denomination but I am now persona non grata because I am “openly” good with the gays.

Who are we to judge anyone… even Jesus Christ had two (2) Father’s! Come on, it makes you think, doesn’t it! It is between this man and GOD. GOD forgives and maybe it is time for you also and move on, you will be better off in the long run.

“Who are we to judge anyone …”
Yeah, I think I heard Jimmy Swaggart say that, once he was caught having sex with prostitutes and farm animals.
