Pfizer takes moral stand: won’t allow its drugs used in executions

Good for the drug company for standing up for what is right.

…Pfizer announced on Friday that it had imposed sweeping controls on the distribution of its products to ensure that none are used in lethal injections, a step that closes off the last remaining open-market source of drugs used in executions.

More than 20 American and European drug companies have already adopted such restrictions, citing either moral or business reasons. Nonetheless, the decision from one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturers is seen as a milestone.

Stalin was nice to his dog, too!

Pfizer, like Stalin, isn’t 100% evil. They aren’t the high-price problem for their new $10,000 a month cancer drugs – it’s those insurance companies that PAY those prices that are at fault for high prices. At least, according to the Pfizer CEO.

Oooh, okay. I get it now, Hitler like dogs too and that makes me real uncomfortable. I would prefer we didn’t have anything in common with these guys. I have read a lot of negative stories about Pfizer it seems in the past few years. I googled just to see a few and it seems mostly tax evasion but there were some stories about cancer pills they jacked the price up on, I tried to open the story but Forbes wanted my money, and I want my money more than there story.

Ain’t no Big Pharma company that I trust. More profitable as an industry than oil.

Without them, there would be no need for legalization.

Hopefully Hillary will take similar high ground. It’s disappointing that a drug company has a more liberal position on the death penalty than the likely nominee for the Democratic party’s presidential candidate.

Meanwhile, thousands of people die because of price-gouged prescription drugs.
