Secretive ‘small wars’ being waged

There is an array of “small wars” against terrorists flying under the radar.

President Barack Obama is increasingly calling upon Special Operations forces to carry out so-called “small wars” across the Middle East and Africa to challenge both ISIS and al Qaeda in places where the U.S. maintains a footprint beyond Syria and Iraq.

In his first trip overseas since taking command of U.S. Special Operations a month ago, Gen. Raymond Thomas told a Middle Eastern audience recently that “complex” fails to adequately describe the current security environment. That complexity is leading the Obama administration to expand the use of small teams of Special Operators in various terror hotspots.

“We are attempting to identify opportunities to expand [Special Operations’] global presence, forward access and relationships to leverage opportunities short of crisis,” Thomas said.

If I remember my Obama, I think he said something along the lines of this will take time, effort, and patience….I think this is One War fought on many fronts…such is Globalization…He is being pragmatic, and the republicans in Congress are being Stupid and Obstructionist…the Media/news organizations are all about Trump…there are only a handful who are keeping up with the actions of our military…secrecy is an impediment to covering this particular type of war…as well…I am grateful that PBO is on duty…doing his job….he is not perfect, but he is doing his constitutional duty as President…without the unified political support of OUR elected Congress…shirking their Constitutional Duty…That is how History will remember these guys…
