2 officers shot, suspect dead at Walmart

Posted by | April 23, 2016 14:54 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly

The two officers are in stable condition, and the suspect is dead.

The officers encountered the unidentified male suspect at the front of the store, just pas[t] the greeters’ area.

According to witnesses, the first officer entered the store and was fired upon immediately by the suspect, Tyler said.

The second officer, who was in close proximity, was also shot but was able to return fire. It is uncertain if the first officer discharged his weapon. Both were wearing bulletproof vests.

The Walmart Supercenter was open for business at the time but is now closed. The parking lot is cordoned off with yellow police tape.

Attention Wal*Mart shoppers! Cheapskates are dying to buy stuff that’s already broken before they buy it. It’s the Trump Zombie Apocalypse Now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIrvSJwwJUE

hey Walmart, how’s that idea of letting people carry weapons in your stores going?

    • Larry Schmitt April 23rd, 2016 at 15:28

Exactly the way the NRA likes it. People get to use their guns, and they couldn’t care if someone gets killed. Because gunz.

      • whatthe46 April 23rd, 2016 at 15:48

hey, what happened to the good guys with guns. likely hiding behind a child or some seriously obese person sitting in one of those scooters. but, wait, i guess the dead guy wasn’t a good guy with a gun after all.

What are you saying?. is Wal-Mart a security company or a police enforcement agency?.

Since you clearly don’t know what I’m speaking about, why don’t you SHUT IT!

you’re the one that’s ignorant. if you had asked me what did i mean by the statement, i would have happily explained. but your question was purely condescending and bitchy. thus, my response.

What China have to do with this now?.

          • Obewon April 23rd, 2016 at 18:19

Apparently you remain the last to learn. Celebrating its 50th anniversary this week. Walmart pays its associates just $8.81 an hour on average.[ii]

China*Mart? Walmart boasts of direct relationships with nearly 20,000 Chinese suppliers,[iv] and purchased $27 billion worth of Chinese-made goods in 2006.[v] According to the Economic Policy Institute, Walmart’s trade with China alone eliminated 133,000 U.S. manufacturing jobs between 2001 and 2006 and accounted for 11.2% of the nation’s total job loss due to trade.[vi] http://www.demos.org/publication/not-made-america-top-10-ways-walmart-destroys-us-manufacturing-jobs

            • noshel April 23rd, 2016 at 21:57

Come on be reasonable. ‘ Wal-Mart is the savior of this country, because without Wal-Mart and China, most of us would go naked, because we don’t couldn’t afford what is manufactured in this country!.
Let me ask you this question. What was the price of Gasoline before the invasion of Iraq in 2003?… It was about $23 per barrel. What happen between the time that we invaded Iraq and now?…
Who are stopping those American manufacturers from cutting cost and bring down the price of production to compete with China?.
China have nothing to do with Americans loosing their jobs, Just look at the Hypocrite Trump and his daughter Evanka, who is blasting china, but he himself is making goods there and bringing it back in this country to sell at high profit.

              • William April 24th, 2016 at 01:14

I am tired of subsidizing Wal-Mart

                • noshel April 24th, 2016 at 10:09

Would you be willing to pay more for Goods that are manufactured in this country?.. If you and those who bash China and Wal-Mart, are willing to pay more , then do so, ADC have a program made in America so I suggest you and others go get some info on where you can find things you need that are made in America and buy them!..
As for my tax dollars going to Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart is not the only one to whom our tax dollars are going, there are several other companies that its going to, but most of us don’t even know or even heard of those companies!.. and what about all the Oil and Gas companies who are getting our tax dollars?…
Why don’t we all boycott Wal-Mart for 6 months, and see what will happen to our economy?.. We have the power to do so.
I for one always look for product where I can save a buck, even if it come from China as long as it serve my purpose.
                  .

                  • William April 24th, 2016 at 10:43

You don’t seem to understand the American system of economics do you?
I’ll try to use small words.
My neighbor needs a job so he can buy stuff. I would rather pay a few extra dollars to pay him to make goods here, rather than pay his welfare.
You’re not a very thorough troll are you?

Why did manufacturing jobs peak and start to decline in 1950?

                    • amongoose April 25th, 2016 at 11:30

Could have something to do with the European economies coming back after the war, could be a number of things, but.
The flight of good paying manufacturing jobs I saw happen.

                    • OldLefty April 25th, 2016 at 12:14

                      I agree.
I remember, as a kid in the early 60’s, at the amusement parks with those stupid games (I think some were designed for little kids to win….remember the fishing game?(EVERYBODY “caught” a fish))?
Parents, back then were calling the prizes, “cheap crap made in Korea”.

                    • amongoose April 25th, 2016 at 23:12

                      Well, it was.
                      .
However as the quality of the products rose the environmental, and worker conditions lagged, badly.
                      .
With cost savings like that to be had, there was plenty available to grease the political skids.

                    • William April 25th, 2016 at 07:59

Kicking and screaming of course. I grew up in the rust belt. NAFTA (in my opinion) is a disaster. Our fathers could hold good jobs making products for the rest of the world. Now you need an advanced degree and two incomes just to get a job that will help you dig out from under the mountain of debt you ran up……getting the degree.

                    • amongoose April 25th, 2016 at 11:35

Ross Perot was crazy, but even they can be right on occasion.
We allowed countries with low wages and few environmental regulations to compete with an American worker and company that
had to follow those laws. What did anyone expect except for business to go where they could make a bigger profit?
                      .
We should have import taxes same as China to protect industry. It is after all allowed by the WTO agreement, it is called manufacturing cost equalization.
                      .
Make the world come up to our standards, not lower our standards to theirs.

                    • William April 25th, 2016 at 12:39

I agree. I think the Waltons have enough money. I would happily pay a few extra dollars to buy a wheel barrow built by my neighbor. He needs a job, and it’s preferable to paying welfare. The Chinese can fend for themselves.

I think your Patriotism is directed in the wrong way. May be you don’t realize that you are patriot blind, where you mix everything together!…
Just think of all the countries that would act like you?. what you think would happen to America?.. Boing and all those companies wouldn’t have employees because they couldn’t sold their planes overseas, Ford, Chrysler, GM, and now Tesler. and Microsoft , Google Facebook, and others , wouldn’t be able to operate in other country , if every one should follow your theories of blind and unbalance Patriotism!…
You see what I am saying?..
Did you realize that is thinking like yours that created ISIS, because to you its of to go to other countries to do them arm but they shouldn’t do you arm back, and also this is why so many young soldiers come back and are killing themselves, because they were sold the same garbage of patriotism without it was properly explained to them, they were taught to hate others, and this is a problem.
Let me explain something to you, If you are a manufacturer, of a product, if there is no one buying it, are you going to continue to make the product?… I don’t think so.
So to kill the china and Wal-Mart market deal is to stop buying their product, once people stop buying, and they realize that, they will closed!.

                    • William April 25th, 2016 at 07:56

I’m going to go ahead and assume my 20 plus years of military service is enough to validate my “patriotism.” How about you?
Note: (watching Fox doesn’t make you a patriot).
Seriously, your troll skills are horrible.

I don’t watch FOX, This is exactly what I just said, you are being left behind, because you are assuming I must watch FOX to get my information.
If according to you, my Troll Skill was horrible, you wouldn’t find it so fascinating that you continue to come back!, I would like to get rude like you, however I will leave you to fall on your own sword one day!.

Patriotism should be about protecting your homeland from a invading Army, not against trade!..

                    • OldLefty April 24th, 2016 at 13:08

Sorry for passing on the info.

                    • noshel April 24th, 2016 at 13:18

You shouldn’t be sorry to share your convection, you feel that Americans should buy American made product. However its not every one will be willing to pay the high price for it, so you will still have unemployment.

                    • OldLefty April 24th, 2016 at 13:40

                      I realize that.
I am simply sharing the information.

Meanwhile, what did we do before?
When Levi went overseas, they did not get cheaper. How could Americans afford them?
Why were products made in America affordable in the past?
Could it be the 30 year obsession with maximizing short-term profits; that Corporate profits and profit margins are at an all-time high while wages as a percent of the economy are at an all-time low and the share of our national income that American corporations are sharing with the people who do the work is at an all-time low?

                    • noshel April 24th, 2016 at 15:47

Because as always, Most American allowed a few rich people to capture some product and managed to keep the prices high. and that’s what Livi found out , so they have no need to reduce their price,
The reason why product made in America was affordable in the past, was because there was not very many buyers, but with expansion to other country , there comes the demand, and this is why for them they have to find a cheaper source of material and workers in order to be able to manufacture enough to supply the markets they now open, or that are now open to them.
Yes , and that’s where the problem lies greed, however we the consumers can change that, we can stand up to such greed, and refuse to buy their products, and then we will shut them down, however we will also hurt ourselves in the process too. but we can do it in a way that we don’t have to hurt ourselves too badly, buy buying less and alternative to those products.

They have a program Called made in America. they are part of what you are crying about, check them out, Just go to ABC and type in made in America.
Its goods that are imported from china that Wal-Mart carry, that they can find which is made in America!.

                    • William April 25th, 2016 at 07:53

Strangely I don’t need to glue my attention to an idiot box. Here in America we have something called “read the label”. It tells you where it’s made. It’s what people like us who patronize out locally owned small businesses do.
So tell me to you get ALL your *giggle* information from television?

                    • noshel April 25th, 2016 at 08:00

I think may be if you were watching those “giggle” television , you probably would be more informed of what people are more concerned about. This is not what you called the good old days where every one look out for each other, those days are gone, and you seem to be going down with it.
The only place that is left with this kind of patriotism, is the arm forces!.
When it comes to regular folks, you can forget it, every one is looking out for him or herself!.
I for one don’t complain, and here is why, If I want something, and I have the money for it I go get it, I don’t care where its made as long as it will do what I want!.

                    • William April 25th, 2016 at 08:08

Yes I can clearly see that you watching those “television” has made you an expert on world affairs and well as paragraph and sentence structure.
                      arm forces? Really?
