Ted ‘New York Values’ Cruz comes to Manhattan to rustle up votes

Posted by | March 23, 2016 18:51 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Let’s home New Yorkers remember what he’s said.

Speaking to supporters at 3 West Club, a private event space, the Texas senator earned a warm reception in a city with which he has had a fraught relationship.

In January, Mr. Cruz attacked Donald J. Trump for having “New York values,” citing his history of left-leaning positions. Mr. Trump defended himself in part by invoking the city’s response to the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

On Wednesday, Mr. Cruz garnered raucous cheers for a stump speech peppered with allusions to New York politics, including debates over fracking and charter schools.

“The people of New York understand firsthand the liberal, left-wing values of New York politicians,” he told reporters. “The people of New York have suffered under the liberal, left-wing values of New York politicians.”

He rifled through a laundry list of local Democrats, disparaging Anthony D. Weiner, Eliot Spitzer, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and Representative Charlie B. Rangel.

“In January, Mr. Cruz attacked Donald J. Trump for having “New York values,” citing his history of left-leaning positions.”

When Ted Cruz is talking to the mouth breathers in the Tea Party primary, he likes to talk sh*t about New York, but when he needs money and delegates, the slithering Texas sidewinder has no problem with “New York values”. And of course, high income blue states like New York end up financially supporting the red Bible Belt states of the deep south, with their high teen pregnancy rates, low average incomes, high murder rates, high divorce rates and sky high numbers of uninsured. These red states follow the “Cruz” method of governance, and the measurable, miserable results are there for all to see.

All the republicans talk about the people in the big cities of the Northeast as if they’re not real Americans. They’ve done it for years, and they’ve always run for office in Washington by claiming to be “outsiders.” They’re all full of it. People in Washington and New York and Boston are just people. “New York values” are American values. So shove it up your ass, Ted. Sideways.

Doing well I think, finally coming out of hibernation with one foot still in my den. I’m looking forward to the weather being a little more consistent. How are you and all your fine folks?

We are doing fine as well. Thank you!! One day it is nippy here and the next day it is spring or summer like. The tree are flowering all over the St.Louis area, which is a sight to see.

I know it is pretty much the same here. I love this time of the year almost as much as I do the fall.

As a deep southerner. Please don’t associate all of us with Ted Cruz. He is a jackass and many of us will tell you that ourselves.

And I don’t know why he is even wasting time in New York. There is no possible way he will win there.

Despite the “blueness” of our state, New York State government has been under republican control for decades. We’ve suffered all right.
