Fresh charges against Ammon Bundy and the Oregon militants

Posted by | March 9, 2016 21:30 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly

Raw Story:

Participants in a six-week armed occupation at a U.S. wildlife refuge in Oregon have been indicted on fresh charges, including that they carried firearms in federal facilities and stole and damaged government property.

The indictment, returned by a federal grand jury on March 8 and unsealed on Wednesday as the anti-government protesters appeared in a federal court in Portland, supersedes an earlier indictment in the case.

It adds new charges against protest leader Ammon Bundy and other sympathizers who were indicted last month of conspiring to impede federal officers policing the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge during a long-simmering fight over land rights.

Now, Tracey Marie, you know our president is the biggest wuss in the world, according to these tools. They believed the propaganda about him, decided they’d test it, and are now behind bars, whining about how much they miss their families. The president has been derided by many on the right for being a constitutional scholar as if it were a bad thing. Ha! Ha! Ha! The best thing about the Bundy and Malheur cases is that PBO, Loretta Lynch, and others in the DOJ are teaching these tools a lesson they’ll never forget. It’s easy to sit on the sideline and disparage someone and determine that s/he is less intelligent than you are based on their sex, race, gender, sexual orientation, political affiliation, etc., but the real fun comes when the object of derision turns out to be much smarter than his/her attackers. I couldn’t stop laughing when I read that Ammon Bundy asked to have his rights read to him again when these charges were handed down. The judge told him that that had already been done three or more times. Ammon, legul skolah that he is, then said, “I see I have no rights in this court!” Methinks he’s prepping for an appeal if/when he’s found guilty.

I haven’t heard about that, that is interesting to learn. I am sure they are keeping records of every interaction with this clan and they will have their appeals denied. I guess I should go get more popcorn, this story is just starting :)

I will cheer when he and his father and brother are thrown in jail. Next step will be confiscating their homes to pay all the money owed plus interest.

In all fairness, I think “extremist militants” describes them well. Insurrectionists also describes them.

I’m not sure they meet the definition of terrorists. Don’t get me wrong — I think there are plenty of right wingers who should be called terrorists. The “pro-lifers” who fire bomb women’s clinics, for example. Or the ones who paint swastikas on mosques and synagogues. The gay bashers. The neo-Nazis. The KKK. These groups actively terrorize who they hate.

But Bundy? I’m not sure who felt terrorized by him.

And I tend to think of them as “armed terrorists” in our midst.

As an Oregonian, I wish the media would stop calling them “Oregon militants.”

We consider them Red State invaders.
