Iranian prisoners released, Rubio Blames Obama

Posted by | January 16, 2016 16:54 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

You see, it’s because of President Obama that hostages were taken in the first place. Never happens during other presidents. Just Obama. Let’s not celebrate freedom for the former prisoners and a diplomatic victory for the United States; let’s just say something that that will help advance the presidential ambitions of an absentee senator.

Rubio was asked about the swap after a campaign event in Iowa today (before official confirmation came in), and according to Time Magazine, he said, “If these reports are true, of course we’re happy for them and their families, but they should have never been there.”

He was incredibly critical of the idea of a prisoner swap, invoking Bowe Bergdahl and “other things” to say the president has “created an incentive for more governments to do this around the world.”

Rubio said he wants to see exactly “what concessions Iran gained beyond massive sanctions relief,” especially considering that the Americans being held in Iran did absolutely nothing wrong.

How about, for just one day, celebrating the release of Americans. Then go back to your continual bashing a few hours later.

Ummm Marco, you do realize that to swap prisoners the U. S. had to have Iranian prisoners to swap. That’s why it’s called a prisoner swap.

Hey, you’re a tired old guy like me…what do YOU do to negate the feeling of “This guy should really have a sledge hammer applied to his forehead in the most violent manner possible” when these idjits spout off like this?
I’m looking for any calming techniques you might have discovered in life, as I don’t really want to think this way…
(Yes, yes…I’ve gone the whole ‘meditation’ route.)

Hang with my daughters & grandkids.
Volunteer at the local food bank.
And when that doesn’t do it … alcohol.

          >I misdoubt you would want me to hang with your daughters and grandkids ( :P )
          >I give, even though I feed three people on food stamps for one…
          >I’m allegedly not drinking right now, for “reasons”…
          I’ll enhance my calm somehow.
But thanx; it seems to work for you.

Sorry Hi. Wish I could give you more. Hope you can find peace in your life.

            • Hirightnow January 16th, 2016 at 18:12

Oh, I have peace, friend TOG…I lost hope for humanity long ago, and it has given me peace (Nothing is more freeing than unconcern).
I was just looking for a way to re-connect.
But it’s nice of you to take concern, and for that, I again thank you.

Way back when, I would have made some reference to Better Living Through Chemistry. But that would be wrong, wouldn’t it?

According to the nice woman who does the counseling at my weekly court-mandated meetings, yes.
Until I finish the program, anyway…

This sums up GOP’s collective goals and results. To knock the USA every single chance they get until they persuade enough voters to elect them and make everything ok. How else do you get the mostly uneducated middle class to vote against their best interests ? Make sure to hammer home God is Great and a Republican. They have not an ounce of shame.

The GOP: they really, really hate us for our freedoms.

The Americans absolutely broke the Iranians laws, preaching xtianity in a theocratic country that is muslim is strictly forbidden, the reporter wrote negative comments about the leaders, also against the law. You bring bibles and dissent into a country where it is forbidden, you will be jailed.

    • TiredOldGuy49 January 16th, 2016 at 18:00

But, but, but … they believe in a false god. He was just trying to save their immortal souls. And the reporter was just trying to spread the theory of American Exceptionalism to the ignorant savages. Why would that be cause to have them arrested?

The joys of theocracy! This is what Dominionists want for America.

      • tracey marie January 16th, 2016 at 19:04

Exactlly, they do not even understand what a theocracy is only that they want one.

Once again, conservatives resort to their favorite intellectually lazy and fundamentally disingenuous political tactic concerning all matters and events relating to Obama:

They’ll damn him if he does, and they’ll damn him if he doesn’t … cuz that’s just how they roll.
