At the undercard Republican debate on Thursday night, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee repeated an oft-heard claim that most mass shootings happen in places where guns are banned and potential victims can’t return fire. Asked by Fox Business Network moderators about what the federal government can do to stop Americans who pose a risk to public…

“At the undercard Republican debate on Thursday night, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee repeated an oft-heard claim”…….
OK, that’s pretty much where I stopped reading.

Huckabee: “America’s gun-related homicide rate … would be about the same as Belgium’s if you left out California, Illinois, D.C. and New Jersey, places with some of the strictest gun control laws in the U.S.”-Pants burned off in a blaze fueled by lies.

    2) “Obama’s refusal to grant permits for offshore drilling is one reason gasoline prices are soaring.”-Pants on fire! They’l never learn it’s easier to tell the truth, than to try and remember what ya’ll made up:
    3) The signers of the Declaration of Independence were “brave people, most of whom, by the way, were clergymen.”-Huckster shuck’n Rocky Mountain oysters for his fact-free devotees. http://www.politifact.com/personalities/mike-huckabee/statements/byruling/pants-fire/

“The mind once enlightened cannot again become dark.”

      “Independence
is my happiness, and I view things as they are, without regard to place
or person; my country is the world, and my religion is to do good.”

      “I
do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the
Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the
Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my
      own church.”

“All national institutions of churches, whether
Jewish, Christian, or Turkish, appear to me no other than human
inventions set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power
      and profit.”

“. But a recent analysis of data in FBI and media reports over a nearly seven-year period shows that only 13 percent of mass shootings between January 2009 and July 2015 took place entirely in public spaces that had been deemed gun-free zones, according to Everytown for Gun Safety,”

Only 13%? Shouldn’t there be zero mass shootings in “Gun Free Zones”? They are after all gun free. Imagine a failure rate like that in any other area. What if your pharmacist filled your RX wrong 13% of the time. Or your favorite restaurant had 13% of their customers get food poisoning. Or 13% of school bus drivers were drunk on any given day. How about 13% of airliners not making it to their destination?

Isn’t a babies crib a gun free zone? USA armed Toddlers shoot & kill more than terrorists. Just 32% remain American gunowner homes, yet they commit 2/3 of all U.S. homicides.
American gun ownership and hunting rates at record lows. http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/mar/10/america-gun-ownership-hunting-rates-record-lows

LOL, that was quite the teabag spin

    • William January 15th, 2016 at 11:05

Yeah because a pharmacist filling prescriptions is just like people getting shot to death.
Seriously, can’t you EVER come up with something applicable? Exactly how far are you willing to divert from the subject? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/93d08832f0242f442ae8d819610d866bb2f19bde81cbc5bf23af6b4b5fe43c62.png

No one is trying to claim that shootings never happen there. But 13% is not “most mass shootings,” which is what Huckleberry said.

It is like he is a child and you need to explain to him the meaning of ‘most’. You are very nice for trying Larry, I would give you a gold star today :)

Thanks, I never got gold stars in school. I misbehaved too much.

                That’s my motto lol.

Here’s the difference: Pharmacies, restaurants school bus drivers and airlines have to adhere to stricter standards than gun owners, which could account for the low rate of wrong medications being distributed, less tainted food in restaurants, less (if any) drunk school bus drivers and less untrained, inexperienced airline pilots – and a lot more firearm fatalities.

      • Larry Schmitt January 15th, 2016 at 15:13

Isn’t it amazing that all those activities, which rarely result in death, are regulated far more than firearms? And that seems logical to the NRA and those who grovel at their feet.

        • Bunya January 15th, 2016 at 15:24

I live just outside Chicago and you’d be surprised how easy it is for someone, anyone – no matter how crazy or unstable, to travel 40 minutes into Indiana and procure a firearm. It is more difficult to get a license to cut hair than it is to get a permit to own and operate a gun. Outrageous.

Virginia serves that role on the east coast. An astounding number of guns used in crimes in NY, NJ, and other northeast states were traced to Virginia. And the republican legislature refuses to do anything about it.

    • fahvel January 16th, 2016 at 04:14

meaningless comments do you well – even some psychopathic gun wielding morons make a mistake – usually they obey the gun free signs but some of them can’t read or apply any kind of intelligence to their actions. Sad day when a shooter is too stupid to breath.

Brown Eye is letting the interns post for him… the quality of his deflection and obfuscation lately would make “dismal” look like praise.

  5. Larry Schmitt January 15th, 2016 at 10:45

Of course, moar guns is always the answer. The African slaves should have been armed, the Jews could have prevented the Holocaust if they had been armed, the murdered kids at Newtown could have saved themselves if they had been armed. MOAR GUNZ!!!

If Jericho had guns, it woulda been “Joshua fled the battle of Jericho…)
