Yes, this is a real thing that was said at at Thursday night’s CNN-hosted town hall meeting with President Obama, Guns in America. In fact, it was the first thing said by anyone in the audience, courtesy of the widow of American Sniper Chris Kyle.

Taya Kyle began by praise-trolling the President for his message of hope, but pivoted to wondering why, instead of proposing measures to prevent gun violence, he doesn’t instead offer hope by telling people how much the murder rate has gone down.

This, apparently, despite murder being perfectly legal…READ MORE

Sure wish we could outlaw stupidity!

    • Dwendt44 January 8th, 2016 at 11:36

      At least make it painful.

    • Larry Schmitt January 8th, 2016 at 12:33

But then what would we do for comedy?

  2. tracey marie January 8th, 2016 at 10:33

    OFFS

Tara Kyle is a blithering idiot that was married to a psychopath.

I very much enjoyed how the President handled these people with these less than intelligent questions, who were planted by the NRA that was too afraid to have an actual representative show up. My fave was the NRA loving Mom who had suffered a rape. He showed concern and kindness, but then, like the others, completely dismantled her argument, like the others, with thoughtful reasoning.
    He is awesome!

    • Dwendt44 January 8th, 2016 at 11:36

Trouble is, no matter how ‘thoughtful and reasoned’ the president, or anyone for that matter, express an idea, it goes right over the head of the rabid right.

I can’t wait to check Media Matters to find out what Limbaugh had to sneer about this.

      • mistlesuede January 8th, 2016 at 13:43

You are exactly right. They put their fingers in their ears and say “la, la, la” because in their tiny minds, everyone else is wrong.

“wondering why, instead of proposing measures to prevent gun violence, he doesn’t instead offer hope by telling people how much the murder rate has gone down”.
    Hey Taya.

    • Larry Schmitt January 8th, 2016 at 13:06

A lower murder rate is very helpful to the families of the murder victims.

      • BillPasadena January 8th, 2016 at 15:42

Isn’t the point about lowering crime rates in the flyover states that things are actually getting better and not worse for Americans scared of crime?
        Fear is a great motivator.

    She wants the VP slot

  7. Gindy51 January 8th, 2016 at 13:05

She’s as dumb as a bag of hammers. Her own husband was killed by a mentally ill person with a gun and she defends this crap? How much did the NRA pay her?

    • Helen Wheels January 11th, 2016 at 12:32

I’m sure the NRA treats her very nicely.

  8. Gina Bousquet January 8th, 2016 at 13:39

    Can we outlaw dumbness ?

    • mistlesuede January 8th, 2016 at 13:44

      If only…

    • Suzanne McFly January 8th, 2016 at 18:43

Imagine the size of our prisons then, they are too big of a drain on our budget as it is, we would need to triple size them.

      • Gina Bousquet January 8th, 2016 at 19:48

        They’d be uuuuuge.

  9. whatthe46 January 8th, 2016 at 13:45

you can play this back to this dumb ass 100x’s and she still won’t get the stupidity of her statement.

  10. Ancient Avian Anomaly January 8th, 2016 at 13:56

Yeah, that would have been great for Obama to say…. “I’m so deeply sorry about your slain children, the victims of gun violence, and I grieve with each and every one of you, but on the bright side the murder rate is down, so that should make you feel pretty good and hopeful, whaddya say, high fives all around??”

  11. BillPasadena January 8th, 2016 at 15:37

How stupid to say ‘We Can’t Outlaw Murder’
We have made it a crime to murder someone. Duh!

The problem is criminals don’t obey our common sense laws.

  12. allison1050 January 8th, 2016 at 15:46

moron wouldn’t even be able to follow an outline of her own idiotic words. She and her now deceased hubby evidently were a matched set. I mean, WHO takes a man suffering from PTSD to a shooting range…only a self important fool who’s now dead.

  13. Suzanne McFly January 8th, 2016 at 18:42

Anyone else read the comments? I read a few and they were in support of her message and said she just did not word her statement correctly. It seems they will gloss over any ignorance when it comes from a select few. If Hillary said the exact same thing, they would want to hang her from the closest Maple tree.

  14. maggie January 8th, 2016 at 18:46

    what a dumb btch….sorry she just is….

    • allison1050 January 8th, 2016 at 19:36

When you’re right you’re right Maggie.

  15. maggie January 8th, 2016 at 18:47

btw did everyone read about those three pitbulls in sacremento that mauled that 9yr old boy to death….and you all were reassuring me they are such gentle souls….sorry you are all so easily douped…;)

    • Hirightnow January 11th, 2016 at 16:50

Did you hear about the white guy who shot up a school?
Yeah, and Fox assures me they’re all such gentle souls.
Guess we were all duped, eh?

  16. labman57 January 9th, 2016 at 09:39

Extending this logic, since we will never be able to completely end auto-related fatalities, we should also do away with seat belt regulations, traffic signals, stop signs, and speed limits.

    • Helen Wheels January 11th, 2016 at 12:31

Why the hell not? After all, the ammosexuals want some “Utopia” that’s a combo of Somalia and the Wild West.

  17. jybarz January 9th, 2016 at 10:52

Well, if you think murder is lawful, go ahead murder someone, Bitch!

  18. Shswn Stutz January 9th, 2016 at 13:26

So stupid it hurts…why she thinks she has something of value to add to the conversation is beyond me…some people should be told not to speak .

  19. Helen Wheels January 11th, 2016 at 12:31

Some idiot on the Banter page actually said laws don’t ever keep anyone from doing something bad. The stupid among the ammosexual crowd is amazing.
