As President Obama gave a press conference discussing his executive actions on gun safety, he welled up with tears when he listed the men, women, the young and the innocent that have been taken from the world through gun violence and domestic terrorism. The president started crying when he got to the children of Newtown, the…

    Obama is a good person.

    Better than me.

I’ll be honest — I’m so jaded to gun violence, I never cry over it. I wish it was so rare that I could.

    Politics is so funny.
Trump is mocked because he is used in terrorist recruiting videos.
Meanwhile, pro-gun people are pointing to the number of gun permits applied for in the last 7 years as proof that the anti-gun rhetoric of Obama is the best advertising for gun ownership and gun stores.

Trump is mocked because he’s a lying, entitled fascist with delusions of grandeur who wouldn’t last a day in a real job, yet wants a bunch of ignorant bigots to believe he’s one of them.
His followers are mocked for pretty much being themselves.

      “Politics is so funny.”

To summarize, between you and politics, one is funny and one is a troll. Too bad you’re not the funny one.

      • Hirightnow January 5th, 2016 at 16:27

The reality of his argument is that more pro-gun people stand a statistically higher chance of dying…but let’s not notice that, shall we?

        • bpollen January 5th, 2016 at 16:30

I think you give him too much credit.

    • Richard Banville January 5th, 2016 at 15:48

So the fact that irrational racist right-wing bigots hate Obama is somehow Obama’s fault?
Being hated by the worst kind of hateful people is a badge of honor.
What Trump is doing is lumping in millions of GOOD people with the bad, in other words being the worst kind of bigot imaginable. He is HELPING the cause of the Islamic radicals.
But to you there’s no difference. No wonder, you’re a low-IQ uneducated right-wing degenerate.

        >> No wonder, you’re a low-IQ uneducated right-wing degenerate.

Whoa! You make a great rebuttal but that last line is harsh!

But “BillPasadena” did reveal his illogical mind.

Trump being hated by ISIS is a badge of honor?

      “Politics is so funny.
Trump is mocked because he is used in terrorist recruiting videos.”

..and because he posted a video of Morocco and represented it as the Mexican border.

and because he refuses to talk about those boots he has on the ground *snicker* in Hawaii, and what they found…

…and because he actually bankrupt a Casino and has had at least 12 failed businesses, including an airline, steaks and vodka….

….and because he referred to a debate hosts menstrual cycle and used the term “shlong” in a comment.

…and because he called a decorated American Naval officer a loser because he was shot down and captured (while Trump himself enjoyed a draft deferment)….

      then there was.

“You know, it really doesn`t matter what [the media] write as long as you`ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.”

“The beauty of me is that I’m very rich.”

“I will build you … one of the great ballrooms of the world.” –Donald Trump, on building a $100 million ballroom at the White House

      .
      Yep, politics is funny.

Interesting…you see the mad rush of paranoid, seemingly unbalanced people, impulsively buying weapons of mass destruction because they think a black man is coming for their guns, as funny…something to be laughed at.
Try to remember we live in a country that has 100k shootings per year, 289 a day.
10 times as many children have died on our streets than soldiers who fought in the wars.
You’re pretty glib about a serious problem in this country, obviously no one you know has been shot yet…don’t worry, with the stats I gave you and your love of guns and gun nutz it’s just a matter of mathematics…Hope you’re one of the lucky ones that lives…you know with brain damage or in a wheelchair.

      • Richard Banville January 5th, 2016 at 21:24

I think the brain damage is already apparent.

      • BillPasadena January 7th, 2016 at 13:55

If only the measures Obama is pushing would actually reduce gun violence.
Would anything Obama proposes have prevented SandyHook? Prevented dylan roof? Prevented San Bernardino?

        • Mike January 7th, 2016 at 17:25

          Right…so do nothing….Remember the party of No…???
Gun nutz are easily led, malable, consumer pawns in today’s highly specialized and competitive corporatocracy that is allowed to buy access to our politicians through lobbying. They have been deluded into believing their rights are in danger and”… the Gub’mint be comin to take yer gun…”…all for the sake of profits, not freedom
It would be hysterical except for the collateral damage…we have to live in a country with 100k shootings every year.

      • BillPasadena January 8th, 2016 at 15:07

” black man is coming for their guns”
If gun owners would support old white democrats and their gun control measures you would have a point that is is based on race.
I do appreciate you trying to go there.

        • Mike January 8th, 2016 at 17:50

Shouldn’t you be out buying another gun or something…???

The Rude Pundit said all that I can say about it today, although quite a bit more colorfully than I would: http://www.rudepundit.blogspot.com.

Just in the last few days, we had a 2-year-old shoot himself in the face, and a 20-year-old girl shot in the head while driving. Responsible gun owners owned the guns that did that damage. People can whine and complain about the government overreaching in this case, but the carnage needs to stop ASAP. And someone with guts stood up and is trying to do that.

    That’s my President!
History won’t be kind to todays republicans and their media accomplices with their hate and divisiveness.

I can just imagine the reichwing response…

  7. bpollen January 6th, 2016 at 04:47

I choke up thinking about Newtown too…

President Obama has demonstrated the true compassion
and care of a great leader, he has demonstrated based on
walking the walk what it means to be with families and
communities that were torn apart and being with grief
stricken people and experiencing their hurt, and with
republicans mocking the President for feeling sorry for
the kids that were killed, they have proven they care
nothing for lost lives and destroyed families and
communities as a result of gun violence.

    Just sayin’

This is a nation overrun with sociopaths, so we know there are probably millions who did. I believe there is a story about Caribou Barbie doing so just added to the site. As for myself, I teared up seeing the President like this yesterday. Every time I think he can’t make me prouder, he does so again, as he did yesterday.
