Oregon Militia Asking For Snacks, Socks, Money On Facebook

Posted by | January 4, 2016 17:26 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Top Stories

Hmm, thought they were set up for the long haul.

Despite claims that the armed militiamen who are occupying a U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service building in Oregon are set up for a lengthy stay, Facebook posts from some of the men and their supporters are asking for supplies, including “snacks and energy drinks.”

While Ammon Bundy initially told The Oregonian that his group was ready to occupy the building “for years, absolutely,” posts are circulating on social media that are asking for, among other things, cold weather supplies (including socks) and the aforementioned snacks and energy drinks on behalf of the group.

And why would the MENSA geniuses barricaded in the Oregon park service building assume the Feds will let them have fresh shipments of socks, snacks, and money?

If you can’t remember to bring enough beef jerkey and fresh sets of underwear, how-the-hell do you plan on securing your demands from federal crisis negotiators?

  2. Yuriko January 5th, 2016 at 01:05

If they exit with their hand up can get three hots and a cot!

    • Franziska Fischer January 5th, 2016 at 03:11

Prisoners no longer get, nor have they for a very long time, three hots. It’s sack lunches and packaged foods not fit for pigs to eat.

      • Jeff Putterman January 5th, 2016 at 08:09

Sounds good to me, as long as we don’t feed it to pigs.

      • Mensa Member January 5th, 2016 at 13:25

        Really?

I guess I watch too much TV. I still have a mental image of prisoners pushing their trays through a chow line.

  3. rg9rts January 5th, 2016 at 01:27

    No beer?

    • The Original Just Me January 5th, 2016 at 18:11

Mormons, they never drink in front of each other. BUT, when they are alone or on a fishing trip with you ?

  4. Lee Anne January 5th, 2016 at 05:51

Delmar, did you bring the food? No, Homer said he was bringing it. Homer, where’s the food? Well shucks, I was told that Cletus and Rodney had it in the pickup. Cletus? Rodney? They’s out hunting’ chipmunks. Seems to be lots of ’em in these parts.

  7. Duke Woolworth January 5th, 2016 at 07:42

This is an out-of-state Mormon clan takeover of a public building. There are non-confrontational ways of helping them decide to leave without harm.
1: Turn off utilities. Hard to charge cell phones without juice. Hard to get heat without electricity or propane. Hard to stay alive without water.
2: Tow and impound their vehicles, which have overstayed their 72 hour parking limit. Only ways out: Prison bus or 30 mile walk.
3: Bring in surplus Waco sound trucks that provide 130dB 24 hour entertainment.
4: Bring in armored bulldozer to dig a mass grave. Impressive, to be sure.
5: Bring in jammers to ensure no cell or radio service in or out.
6: Pull all media coverage. No interviews, no attention, no cause.
7: Serve them with papers demanding return of hundreds of thousands in drought payments, as they’ve declared there isn’t any drought.
    But dammit, do it TODAY!

    • Jeff Putterman January 5th, 2016 at 08:09

Why would we do that? These terrorists are white, and the US is primarily a racist state.

      • Duke Woolworth January 5th, 2016 at 13:48

The longer they stay, the more legitimate they get, regardless of race, but they’re more unracial than the mud people they speak about in private..

  8. Buford2k11 January 5th, 2016 at 08:45

They want snacks??? Molon Labe….mutha fukas…

    • fredoandme January 5th, 2016 at 12:32

      i laughed. out loud!!!

  9. Hannah Beachler January 5th, 2016 at 09:01

This thread is hi-larious! The first thread about this to make me laugh and that’s not full of hate about somehow blavk people being worse. After reading thousands of racists comments, slurs, rhetoric yesterday, this, this right here is just what I needed! The laughs! Thank you for your levity and not pointing the finger at someone who just happens to have more melanin. Yesterday was bleak but it’s nice to start the day with a chuckle.

    • E4439qv5 January 6th, 2016 at 03:20

…Alright, you got me. I’m confused. How on Earth would racism have anything to do with a group of East-of-the-Cascades loons camping on a wildlife reserve?

      • Hannah Beachler January 6th, 2016 at 06:43

Exactly. I think a lot of people jumped to the conclusion it wouldn’t be such a peaceful resolution of the “armed occupier”/criminals were of another race. That they’d (law enforcement) would have just killed and been done with it. They’d be called thugs or terrorists in the media and its be covered 24/7 non stop. Which I honestly can not disagree with given the social tenor of the last five/six years. It’s the comments in response to that idea that are heartbreaking, scary, revealing, disgusting and non stop. I mean the raw hate and bigotry that people are willing to type out is breathtaking in that you’d think they wouldn’t want anyone to see it, but then I guess others know it about them already, or they just feel no problem with what they type. Now I realize probably 20% are total trolls with fake accounts and do it just to get people angry, emotional vampires if you will. But I gotta believe at least 30% type horrible things and in their everyday life are our doctors, mailmen, grocers, firemen, teachers, policemen, etc which is even scarier that they feel that way and for the most part hide it, and 50% are just blatant overt racists on line and in every day life and don’t have a damn problem with it. How would you feel if the majority, like 90%, of what you saw people write was vile racist bigoted rhetoric aimed directly at your extra melanin accompanied by death threats. It’s very hard and I’m still human, my son is human it’s scary and hurtful but people just do not care they want people of melanin to all die, period.

Every head to the Bundy ranch! We are going to have a $1 million cattle roundup while the boys are off playing ammosexuals in Oregon.

Oooooohhhhh… Be still my fluttering heart! The odor of big healthy manly men in camo with pork rinds and beer on their breath gives me the vapors.

    • fredoandme January 5th, 2016 at 12:30

and not the good kind of vapors.

    • Mensa Member January 5th, 2016 at 12:59

Everybody loves a man in a uniform — but these guys are more accessorized than uniformed.

    • The Original Just Me January 5th, 2016 at 18:07

It seems they are mostly Morons. therefore no Beer in front of the others anyway.

  13. Bruce Brown January 5th, 2016 at 10:18

Blockade! Nothing in or out. Turn off the water and electricity.

    • Mensa Member January 5th, 2016 at 10:29

      Just don’t start shooting.

If they die as martyrs, they get 72 cousins in paradise.

      • RJGuadagno January 5th, 2016 at 12:03

They are all ‘creaming’ for the ‘gub-ment’ to shoot first (or even show up in their sights)… No, a blockade works.

        • Mensa Member January 5th, 2016 at 12:14

And, for the love of common sense, cut off their phones and interviews with the media.

      • The Original Just Me January 5th, 2016 at 18:06

No, that would be the cousins female children. Polygamy ?

  14. fahvel January 5th, 2016 at 10:37

why isn’t the air around these terrorists fuzzed up so their phones and computers don’t work – also any electricity and water. Cruel and unusual? probably since then they’d only have their brilliant selves to talk to.

    • AttilatheBlond January 5th, 2016 at 17:03

Rural Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center is probably on a well, so cutting off power DOES cut the water. Unless there is a solar pump, of course, which is not at peak operation in cloudy snowy weather.

  15. David Ish January 5th, 2016 at 10:42

The Government should just cut themselfs off of everthing

    • Mensa Member January 5th, 2016 at 13:30

The GOP have trying to do that for years.

      • David Ish January 5th, 2016 at 14:42

I tried to join Mensa, My IQ rated 125. The GOP gives $$ out only to big gasoline & arms corperations

        • Terry Thies January 6th, 2016 at 22:00

125? Themselfs? What corperations are being armed? Is big gasoline related to big oil? Make that 12.5.

          • David Ish January 7th, 2016 at 03:22

IQ Rated for self 125, GOP gives $$$ to Gas & arms corporations, both have private armies

  16. GmaGardner January 5th, 2016 at 10:54

Whaaa Whaaa Whaaaa. What a buncha sissies! Didn’t pack enough sox & beef jerkey!! LOL
I hope all the local businesses have their ‘right to refuse service signs up’ and they refuse said service! These guys are anti-govt? then the govt should cut them off!

  17. Desdemona's bane January 5th, 2016 at 10:58

The government needs to make sure the supply lines remain open for these idiots. Keep the snacks rolling in. Why would we want to starve them out? Instead, keep feeding them so that they stay put and don’t ever come out again.

  18. Mensa Member January 5th, 2016 at 11:12

Why are some posts being deleted? Even ones that don’t seem to violate the rules?

  19. Grover Paul Weaver January 5th, 2016 at 11:15

Nothing in nothing out; blockade the bastards until they beg for government lockup.

  20. Liadan January 5th, 2016 at 11:54

There is a movement to send hard-working government officials and non-profit employees snacks instead of these Hee-Haw-dists. It supports the government over them. And these employees are just people, trying to get a difficult job done. Who ever thinks of them?

So think about a gift basket for them…the postal worker, the teacher, the postal worker, the social worker…

    #snacksforjustice

    • Mensa Member January 5th, 2016 at 12:11

I live in Oregon and the news coverage has been almost constant.

It’s pretty clear that the community doesn’t support these guys. They are outside agitators.

There is some shared concern about the federal government but not the same insurrectionist attitudes. They want these guys out.

      • Mensa Member January 5th, 2016 at 12:13

And, I should add, it seems like the national media are completely missing the religious aspect of this story. On the local media, these guys are saying that God told them to do this.

        It’s Mormonism, if that matters.

        • AttilatheBlond January 5th, 2016 at 17:01

We all marvel at how God always tells idiots what the idiots want to hear. They must think Trump is God’s latest personification on earth.

      • Liadan January 5th, 2016 at 12:23

Then a more concrete demonstration of opposition to them would be to send snacks to government workers instead of these guys.

        • Mensa Member January 5th, 2016 at 12:57

          No disagreement there.

I guess that schools are closed for a number of miles around. As a school teacher, this is a bummer. We have to make up those days, without pay. (and least in my district.)

    • fredoandme January 5th, 2016 at 12:29

      excellent plan.
