Rand Paul: Hillary Will ‘Take Us To War’

Posted by | January 3, 2016 16:51 | Filed under: Politics War & Peace

Rand Paul says our best chance for war would be a Clinton presidency.

It turns out that probably the most likely candidate to take us back to war is Hillary Clinton,” the Republican presidential candidate told NBC’s “Meet the Press.”Clinton’s support for regime change in certain situations could pull the U.S. back into war, Paul argued Sunday morning.

“The difference is President Obama and Hillary Clinton both supported arming the Syrian rebels, the Islamic rebels against [Syrian President Bashar] Assad. I wouldn’t have done that,” Paul said. “They also supported toppling [Muammar] Gaddafi in Libya.”

“The interesting thing is while Obama gets blamed for not intervening enough, he’s actually intervened quite a bit in the Middle East and not to our benefit,” Paul added.

To me, this is still shocking.

A short time ago, Republicans were criticizing Obama for not arming ISIS.

Yet, these same people are still on TV being taken seriously.

john has also said we should arm the rebels who turned out to be ISIL before this pic

Considering the fact that Assad may well be made to step down in the near future, I don’t know WTH you are talking about.
I would trust HRC to keep us safe over any of the candidates, and as far as getting us into a war, it’s your GOTP candidates wargasms that will do that. Trumps mouth alone could cause a nuclear holocaust.

Hillary is too hawkish for me.

But you are right — she will use far better judgment than any of the GOP frontrunners.

I tend to be more conservative on foreign policy and domestic safety issues, so for the most part she is my candidate. Of course, if it’s Bernie, I’ll vote for him also, but I don’t feel as comfortable with him on this stuff.
She is already showing good judgment when she spoke at the debate about Trump’s words being recruitment tools for terrorists. She would be much more careful about what she says and does, like PO. She has the experience to know how to navigate hazardous territory carefully.

To be clear, I’m a Hillary supporter as well. I think she did a great job as Secretary of State and I’m hoping she’ll kick butts and take names in a way that Obama hasn’t.

But I was dismayed at her support of the Iraq war.

But I’m a realist. I don’t expect any candidate to agree with me on every issue. Nor am I a one issue voter.

I assume that she was advised, probably by her husband and other men, to make that vote. At the time she should have been less trusting of the cherry picked information available and used her women’s intuition more. I hate that she did that. But she has admitted it was probably her biggest mistake. So far, I think it was. Of course, not if you listen to the RWNJ’s!

There is very little I like about Rand Paul but I do like his reluctance to use the military.

But the fact that he criticizes Hillary rather than just about every GOP candidate shows he’s not serious.

He is just saying stupid crap and is hoping someone will give him some money, it is straight from the rump playbook.

    Yeah, Randy, that’s so true.
Hillary has been calling for carpet bombing.
Hillary has been calling for “bombing the hell out of them”.
Hillary has been calling for toppling Syria’s government, and then to not to. Also, “denuclearize” North Korean, whatever that means.

Oh, wait, that’s Cruz, Trump, and Rubio, respectively. You may want to remember that.

“Hey, remember me? Rand? Paul? I’m running for president? Of the USA?”

the republican party has weakened us in the eyes of the rest of the world…the republican party has cheapened our political process, and it has devolved into this disgusting stew of hate, fear, and stupidity….the corporations have won major victories when these republican legislators continue to screw up our nation…If there needs to be a war…it should start on the top floors of Wall Street, and continue into the cesspits on K-street…this is where the real enemy of our country resides…Not in the Middle East…
