Trump’s Health Perfect, Except That Day He Got A Military Medical Deferment

Posted by | December 17, 2015 08:53 | Filed under: Contributors Mark Quincy Adams Opinion Politics

When Donald Trump’s doctor released the Republican frontrunner’s medical report this week it caused quite a stir. Not only is Trump’s health exceptional, Dr. Harold N. Bornstein opined that “If elected, Mr. Trump … would be the healthiest individual ever elected to the Presidency.”

The doctor is not alone in his confidence of Trump’s robust fitness. The candidate himself went so far as to correctly predict his medical report would show “perfection“. Naturally, he even took to Twitter to boast about his superior genetics which, he believes, results in his unbelievable health.

This October, Donald Trump went on the Opie and Jimmy radio program and went so far as to claim he has never even had the flu! Clearly, we are looking at a potential world leader with superhuman capabilities on par with the legendary Kim Jong-un of North Korea. (We can only imagine what would happen if the two of them met on a golf course!)

So how is it possible that someone so healthy, who was a star student athlete and who has never even had the flu suddenly had disqualifying medical issues when the Vietnam War rolled around? What bad luck bestowed our Donald that day when the military, so desperate to find young men to send into war, had to turn away someone so genetically and physically superior? Perhaps Trump can have Dr. Bornstein scribble us a little note about that medical mystery.

If Trump wins the nomination, his most likely opponent will be Hillary Clinton. Hillary, a female, was never subject to the draft, but her husband, Bill Clinton, was, and he got several deferments. When Bill ran out of deferments, he wrote a letter in which he explicitly stated his unwillingness to serve in the U.S. military. So I don’t Trump’s using a medical deferment to possibly avoid the draft will become an issue in 2016.

    • William December 17th, 2015 at 09:06

The fundamental difference is this. Clinton maintained his fundamental aversion to using military action as basic foreign policy. The draft dodgers like Trump and Cheney became warhawks.

      • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 09:10

Clinton didn’t use the military? Tell that to the Serbians. It would be more to the point to say that Clinton wasn’t very good when he did use the military, as Somalia would attest. And there’s a dead janitor in an aspirin factory in Sudan who, if he could, would testify in opposition to the argument that Bill was a peaceful man.

How many combat deaths under Bill Clinton? “0” According to the CRS, during the Clinton administration, one person in uniform died as a result of hostilities and another 75 died as a result of terrorist attacks. By contrast, during the first six years of the Bush administration, 2,596 troops died from hostilities and 55 from terrorist attacks. http://www.factcheck.org/2008/01/military-deaths-under-clinton-and-bush/

          • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 09:41

Really? How many sailors were killed on the U.S.S. Cole? And I guess you’re not counting the Marine (or the 11 CIA personnel) killed in the embassy attacks in 1998. But, oh, I’ve forgotten that Clinton was the guy who made famous the concept of “definitions.” At all depends upon what “is” is–remember that? So, depending on how “combat” is defined, you could say that no one was killed in “combat” while Bill was in the WH. (Just as you could say that no Muslim has ever killed an American, because no real Muslim can, by Obama’s definition, be a jihadi.)

            • William December 17th, 2015 at 09:46

Typical right winger. Post anything about Trump and they’ll pull Bill Clinton out of the box. These guys were marginally more interesting when they wanted to chat about FEMA camps and death panels.
So now the real subject comes up. Islamophobia. You could have saved everyone a lot of time if you had just gone ahead and skipped to your real agenda.

              • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 09:50

Without Bill Clinton, there would have never been the possibility of a Hillary Clinton presidency. Bill Clinton will be part of the 2016 election. You know that, and you want to use Bill Clinton to your advantage. But that won’t happen, unless the Republicans are incredibly inapt in the arts of political campaigning. Get used to having to cover for Bill.

                • William December 17th, 2015 at 10:01

Well when one considers the shape the last Democratic President left this country compared to the way the last Republican left it (a smoking ruin). I hope and pray that Bill lends as much to the next administration as possible. Of course we want to use Bill Clinton to our advantage. …and..*snicker* You guys are of course free to use George W. Bush, to YOUR advantage. *giggle*. After all, fair is fair.

Okay. Got it now. You are an ill-informed teatard, shameless Trump lover and misogynist all wrapped up into one big pile of crap.
                  Oh boy!

                  • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 11:43

Okay. You explain to us how Hillary got into contention for the Democrat Party’s nomination for POTUS in 2016.

I’ve seen some of your comrades on another site puking out the same stupid questions and talking points. It’s not worth engaging with ill-informed teatard misogynists. Go make your quarters elsewhere.
You won’t be here long anyway.
                      Buh bye.

                    • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 11:59

Why won’t I be here long? I like it here. I’m enjoying this exchange of conflicting opinions. That’s what a real discussion is, isn’t it?

                    • mistlesuede December 17th, 2015 at 12:00

If you were actually capable of holding “ideas” that would be true.
                      All evidence to the contrary.

How many NRA terrorist deaths in America since 1968? 1.3 M+!

            • William December 17th, 2015 at 10:13

Really? How man soldiers were killed on the U.S.S. Cole?
              answer
              None.
as a twenty year (retired) Navy veteran who served during that time I need to point out that sailors crew Navy destroyers, not soldiers.

        • William December 17th, 2015 at 09:21

I’m sorry, I thought we were talking about the draft and Donald Trump. But if you want to talk about Presidents and senseless slaughter, I’m game.

          • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 09:35

We are. You’re the one who brought up Bill Clinton’s pacifism.

            • MyDogsAreSmarterThanYou December 17th, 2015 at 10:28

No, you’re the one that brought up Bill Clinton.

              • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 10:35

Every time Hillary’s name comes up, Bill’s follows shortly thereafter. Deal with it.

                • MyDogsAreSmarterThanYou December 17th, 2015 at 10:46

Yes, and look who’s bringing it up. It’s a non-issue.

You are stating that Bill Clinton will not be part of the discussion during the 2016 POTUS election campaign. I say, mistlesuede, that you are wrong. In fact, I’d say, that Coke-Nose Billy is already part of the old witch’s campaign problems.

                    • mistlesuede December 17th, 2015 at 11:48

It took you an hour to come up with more insults and misogyny?

Please rejoin your teatard friends wherever it is that you do whatever it is that you do.
                      LOL

        • William December 17th, 2015 at 09:24

BTW please point out where I ever wrote “Clinton didn’t use the military” If you think you’re going to try that Limbaugh shtick of telling people what they really, mean or think, be aware this is a liberal web site, and we’re not stupid enough to fall for that sh*t.

          • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 09:32

Okay, I failed to understand you. What you meant, it seems, to have said is that “Clinton maintained his anti-war views, even as he waged war against Serbia, messed up big time in Somalia, blew up rocks with cruise missiles in Afghanistan, and murdered a janitor in an aspirin factory in Sudan. Even as Bill rained down bombs and missiles, he ALWAYS said he was a ‘man of peace.'”

There, William, have I clarified your position? (Oh, I forgot to mention that Clinton also maintained the northern and southern no-fly zones over Iraq.)

            • William December 17th, 2015 at 09:42

No you have not. The subject is Trumps draft dodge. If you want to talk about Presidents blowing up sh*t and murdering people, that’s another subject, and I’ll be happy to discuss it. BTW. You really need to look up the definition of murder.

              • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 09:45

You are the one who is arguing that Bill Clinton, who wrote a letter in which he admitted that he detested the U.S. military, remained a pacifist while in the WH. You simply are p.o.’d that I’ve ruined your argument. You’re angry because, in your mind, this is a liberal website, and you think being a liberal means never having to say, “I was wrong.”

                • William December 17th, 2015 at 09:52

Um..no. This is a posting about Trumps draft dodging.
To defend him you have so far bought up
Syria, Serbia, an aspirin factory, Somalia, Hillary Clinton, Muslims, Jihad, the USS Cole, an Embassy, Afghanistan, missiles and rocks.
Not once have you offered a plausible argument to the subject.
…and yet you likely wonder why nobody is taking you seriously
                  you have trolled poorly

                  • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 10:00

No, to defend him, I’ve pointed out that Trump’s most likely opponent is not free of draft problems herself. First of all, Hillary who champions women’s rights was NOT required to register for the draft. And 2ndly, Hillary, who is half of the Clinton team, is yoked to a partner who was eligible for the draft but also got deferments. So trying to paint Trump as a draft dodger is not a consequence-free tool for Hillary to use against Trump. A big consequence, in fact, should Hillary broach Trump’s prior draft status, is that it might–and should–open the door for a discussion as to whether or not women should be required to register with the selective service. I wonder how Hillary would respond to that?

                    • William December 17th, 2015 at 10:03

I’ve pointed out that Trump’s most likely opponent is not free of draft problems herself
                      Really?
                      Hillary Clinton has draft problems.
OK I REALLY must hear about this one.
                      Do go on.

So Hillarys campaign is going to be hurt by a question that hasn’t been asked yet.
                      OK
                      got it.

Your statements are not a defense of Trump’s actions concerning the draft. They are only pathetic attempts to deflect from the issue.

                • MyDogsAreSmarterThanYou December 17th, 2015 at 10:24

being a liberal means never having to say, “I was wrong.”

No, that is a trait unique to conservatives. Examples abound.

Yet still healthy enough to call a Naval aviator who endured more than 5 years of torture and brutal captivity a loser for getting shot down.

  3. Buford2k11 December 17th, 2015 at 10:05

Part of the protests back in the day, was about these wealthy white folks being able to use their privilege to dodge the draft….Mitt, Donald, Bush…all used their lucky births to not go to war, and lead pampered and privileged lives while the the “poor” fought and died in that nasty war…I sat on that bench waiting for my “orders”….while these fucks did not….I piss on them….

  4. Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 09:12

If Trump’s deferment comes up, the best counter-attack would be to question why American women still are not subject to our select-service law. Since the U.S. military has now opened up all combat fields to females, why aren’t females subject to registering for the draft. That’s a question that should be put to Hillary.

    • William December 17th, 2015 at 09:17

How does one use a current policy concerning draft registration to defend a draft dodge four decades ago?

      • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 09:19

The topic is “answering the call to the draft.” Women can’t answer the call because they are exempt from being called. And why is that? The feminist–invariably a Democrat–DEMANDS equal treatment. Don’t you think, William, that women should be required to register for the draft, just as ALL 18-year-old American males are required to do?

        • Obewon December 17th, 2015 at 09:29

Even Bozo the KKK clown knows everyone is exempt from the draft since Jan. 27, 1973.

        • William December 17th, 2015 at 09:29

You don’t get to dictate the topic. Scroll up. This is title of the article.
“Trump’s Health Perfect, Except That Day He Got A Military Medical Deferment”
          Your argument is irrelevant.

          • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 10:06

I finished with you. You ran out of soap several posts ago; so now you’re just showing your asss.

            • MyDogsAreSmarterThanYou December 17th, 2015 at 10:18

So basically “F*ck it, I win,” except that anyone with a brain can see your entire argument is only meant to deflect from Trump’s litany of lies concerning his draft deferment.

              • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 10:31

I answered him. But he kept deflecting.

                • MyDogsAreSmarterThanYou December 17th, 2015 at 10:47

                  Your entire argument is deflection.

                  • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 11:46

I’m discussing the topic in its totality. You prog-Dems want to isolate and focus it like a laser beam strictly upon Trump. That won’t happen. Deal with it.

              • William December 17th, 2015 at 10:32

it’s an interchangeable argument. Simply bring up something that has nothing to do with the subject, bluster, deflect and divert. Where have I seen this before?
                Oh..wait…right.

        • mistlesuede December 17th, 2015 at 10:44

Actually the topic of the thread is why was Trumpster getting deferments from the draft if he is sooooooooo healthy?
We all know he wrote this bogus “doctor’s” health report. It’s in his fourth grade language level.

          • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 11:49

If the election becomes a Trump v. Team Clinton contest, the discussion cannot consider Trump’s response, back in the day, to the draft without considering Team Clinton’s response to the same situation. The old witch, being a helpless, little female, was not subject to the draft, and Coke-Nose Billy did everything he could to avoid the draft. Those are facts, mistlesuede.

              • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 11:52

I think you’re probably right: nobody cares what Trump did about the draft 40-plus years ago.

                • OldLefty December 17th, 2015 at 13:27

He’s just a big phony all around, and those who like don’t care and those who don’t won’t vote for him anyway.

                  • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 14:13

It’s the same with the old witch. Those who don’t care that she used the Sec. of State’s office for her personal gain, won’t care about her other criminal activities. They won’t care that she compromised national security in order to have an e-mail system which she could control and, thus, conceal that she was selling influence worldwide and laundering the money through the Clinton Foundation. They won’t care that she was so indifferent to her responsibilities that she slept while the Libyan ambassador and others were murdered; and that, afterwards, she was so flippant about the murders that she actually thought she could pass the incident off as being the result of an Internet video. But Hillary has always assumed that her “fans” are morons. And who could argue with her?

                    • OldLefty December 17th, 2015 at 14:14

I don’t know any “old witch”.

Your comments, besides being late to the thread, are becoming so pathetic, it begs the question. When does the nurse come to return you to your room?
Go take your meds now and have a lie down. Maybe the meds can help your Clinton derangement syndrome.
              LOLOLOLOL

              • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 12:54

You mean, “it prompts the question.” Begging the question occurs when the questioner assumes the answer resides in the question itself. For instance, a question such as, “Since we’re all progressives, I’m sure we all agree that our old witch is a shoo-in the 2016 presidential election.” The questioner “begged the question,” when assuming that “…we’re all progressives” is a true statement.

                • Chris December 17th, 2015 at 16:05

                  No, it “begs the question”.

            • WYNEMA GONZAGOWSKI December 17th, 2015 at 19:16

HELLO!!! The difference is that Clinton did not have to register for the draft and Trump did… IF he bought his way out of military service (which it is looking more and more like he did) then HE BROKE THE LAW and HE should face the consequences… HOW FREAKING HARD IS THAT TO UNDERSTAND!!!

        • tracey marie December 17th, 2015 at 11:24

there is NO call to the draft.

          • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 11:31

Every American male and resident alien is required to register with the Selective Service. American men must do so within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Assuming you are a female, t.m., don’t you think that women should also be required to register?

Look around and find for us Obama’s registration form.

        • mistlesuede December 17th, 2015 at 10:41

Why don’t you post yours first troll?

        • William December 17th, 2015 at 10:43

Wait..what? I thought you were “done with me”

          OK

Now you want to defend Trumps draft dodging by asking me about the Presidents draft registration?

          Really?

Obama registered for the draft on Sept. 4, 1980, and was given registration number 61-1125539-1.
Worth noting is that nobody in the U.S. has been drafted for military service since 1972, the year Obama turned 11. Obama, like other young men turning age 18 since then, was required to register on a standby basis, in case Congress ever resumes an active military draft. Failure to register is technically a crime, and disqualifies a man for federal student aid or from holding certain federal jobs.

You can look it up for yourself on Factcheck.org. Anything else you need?
I can point you to the birth certificate if you want.

          • mistlesuede December 17th, 2015 at 10:47

Well done. I hate stupid trolls.

          • Chris December 17th, 2015 at 16:04

He’ll never address you when he’s wrong.

Just like the Donald, he deflects, deflects, deflects. That’s why he brings up Hillary not pushing for Selective Service registration when you ask him about Trump’s deferment.

It has nothing to do with anything. But it sounds to him like it does since he apparently holds up Trump and Palin as paragons of speech.

            • William December 18th, 2015 at 09:13

Yeah I did think that his deflection to Hillary not registering for a draft that didn’t exist for women was a bit of a stretch. He was poorly equipped to troll here. Sadly his argument would have been considered lucid on one of the right wing Trump blogs.

    • Larry Schmitt December 17th, 2015 at 09:17

Since the draft is not active, with no plans to change the status quo, it’s really a moot point.

      • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 09:25

The draft is not inactive. There are severe penalties for failure to register. Educate yourself–look it up. And it’s not moot. Russia is now in Syria. If we institute a no-fly zone in Syria (as Hillary has proposed), we run the risk of a direct conflict with the Russians. If we send combat troops to Syria, women will surely be among those troops. Women are now allowed in the U.S. military’s combat-arms fields. That women should register for draft has the potential of becoming a big issue in 2016. If the Democrats want to dig up Trump’s 40+ plus year draft deferment, I would urge Trump’s people to question Hillary as to whether or not she supports having women register for the draft.

        • Obewon December 17th, 2015 at 09:33

What’a dope. All of us who didn’t register for draft in the 1970’s were excused. The draft ended January 21st, 1973. D’oh!

          • William December 17th, 2015 at 09:35

            But…but…what about Serbia,,,and and,,,the Russians..no wait…but but….No fly zones…and um ..er Syria, and ..OH WAIT…I got it…

          • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 10:24

This poster doesn’t know that Carter reinstated the Selective Service. Here’s an a portion of a Wikipedia article. Obewon might want to read up:

“On July 2, 1980, President Carter signed Proclamation 4771 (Registration Under the Military Selective Service Act) in response to theSoviet invasion of Afghanistan,[20] retroactively re-establishing the Selective Service registration requirement for all 18- to 26-year-old male citizens born on or after January 1, 1960.[21] As a result, only men born between March 29, 1957, and December 31, 1959, were completely exempt from Selective Service registration.[22]

“The first registrations after Proclamation 4771 took place at U.S. Post Offices on Monday, July 21, 1980, for those men born in January, February and March 1960. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays were reserved for men born in the later quarters of the year, and registration for men born in 1961 began the following week.[23]

“In 2014, due to a clerical error at the Pennsylvania Department of Transport, information about 14,250 men born in the years 1893–97 (in addition to 1993–97) was provided to the Selective Service System. Draft registration notices were then sent to the men.[24]”

            • Larry Schmitt December 17th, 2015 at 11:07

Yes, the Selective Service System is alive and well. No one here disputes that fact. But once again, in big letters, just for you, THERE IS NO DRAFT. Got it? No one is being conscripted into the military service, and hasn’t for over 40 years. The Selective Service System does not equal a draft. It is the machinery that would be used if they have to activate the draft at a future date, so they don’t have to start from scratch. Any other questions?

              • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 11:42

The question is whether or not women should be required, within 30 days of their 18th birthday, to register for the draft, as that is required of every American male and resident-alien male. Why are you opposed to uplifting the status of the American woman? Aren’t American women entitle to be treated equally with American men?

              • Chris December 17th, 2015 at 15:59

The troll won’t answer because, like his personal savior Donald, he can’t be wrong. That’s why he’s trolling with his proposed nonstarter issue of the draft. Some Republicans like treading water on inconsequential crap.

        • William December 17th, 2015 at 09:33

So your defense to Trumps draft dodge is a question that has never been posed to Hillary about a draft for women that has never existed?
Nearly as weak as Trumps slithering and skulking response to being asked about his birther crap the other day.

          • highwaterjane60 December 17th, 2015 at 12:16

It’s about lying to dodge the draft. SMH

        • Larry Schmitt December 17th, 2015 at 09:35

Registration for the draft is mandatory, but no one has been drafted since 1973. Therefore, the draft is not active. Simple English.

          • William December 17th, 2015 at 09:37

Yeah..but but..I there was a draft..and um. and if there was one in the sixties and if butter was actually pointed and Hillary didn’t register, then Trump would be your best bet because of Bill Clinton and Serbia.
            See?

            • Larry Schmitt December 17th, 2015 at 09:40

You mean my butter ice pick is no good? Damn, I paid good money for that thing.

            • mistlesuede December 17th, 2015 at 10:37

              And Benghaziiiiii.

          • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 10:07

The penalties for failure to register still exist. And why shouldn’t women have to register, too?

            • Larry Schmitt December 17th, 2015 at 10:19

Registering does not equal being drafted. And there are way more serious problems to deal with than whether women have to go through the motions of registering for a non-existent draft.

            • arc99 December 17th, 2015 at 11:41

Please provide a link showing that in her own words, Mrs. Clinton opposes drafting women. Otherwise your argument is the quintessential straw man.

              • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 12:57

The mainstream media has yet to ask the old witch about her position on females registering for the draft. But, then again, the mainstream media hasn’t asked the old witch many questions about the Clinton foundation, her e-mails, Benghazi, or her health, either.

                • arc99 December 17th, 2015 at 13:13

Hillary Clinton is not a witch. Since I am married to a witch, I know a thing or two about the subject the same way someone married to a Deacon or a Pastor or Reverend or Rabbi would have some insight into those spiritual roles.

So your attempt to present the word “witch” as some kind of negative tells me that your opinions do not deserve further consideration from me.

I will add that after countless hours of Congressional testimony on emails, Benghazi etc etc etc., no sane person can honestly believe that these issues have not been thoroughly investigated.

Bottom line, blaming the media is about the lamest excuse I can imagine for your own inability to demonstrate that Mrs. Clinton is somehow hypocritical on the issue of women in the draft. You are entitled to your opinions. I will stick to facts.

And the fact is that there is no record of Mrs. Clinton opposing the drafting of women, if we have to have a draft at all.

                • arc99 December 17th, 2015 at 13:18

incidentally, Donald Trump is a year older than Hillary Clinton

I would certainly prefer the old “witch” (if she were one), to the even older a$$hole Trump.

                  • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 14:27

The old witch does have a method for extending her life. At least, she thinks she does. Every three days, she drinks an elixir composed of ground-up 24-week-old fetuses laced with the shredded tissue of a human male’s testicles. I understand she’s been using Vince Foster’s testicular tissue since July of 1993, but that source has almost been exhausted.

                  that (yawn) BENGHAZI?

          • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 11:35

Wrong. Trump and Cruz have not proposed a no-fly zone; however, both have proposed resettling Arab refugees within the Middle East. Krespie Kreme and the old witch, Hillary, have proposed the establishment of a no-fly zone in Syria. The NJ Fatboy even proposes to shoot at Russian aircraft that enter that no-fly zone. I don’t believe the old witch has yet indicated whether or not she’d be willing to shoot down Russian aircraft that enter her no-fly zone. If she hasn’t, I don’t expect the prog-Dem media to press her for an answer.

        • Chris December 17th, 2015 at 15:54

You truly do not know what the draft is, do you?

Yes, you must register with Selective Service if you’re a guy.

Yes, the draft IS inactive now.

NO, the draft does not exist now. Registering for the draft and having an active draft present are two different things.

          Educate yourself. (I can dream.)

      • mistlesuede December 17th, 2015 at 10:36

      Deflection Alert.

      • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 11:38

It’s the natural expansion of the topic of the draft. Why limit the discussion to something that might have happened 40-plus years ago? We still have a draft, and that draft still only pertains to males. Since the draft was reinstated by Carter in 1980, the military has changed its policies regarding homosexuals, transexuals, and women in combat. It’s time to discuss whether women will be included under the nation’s draft law. Don’t you agree, tracey?

    • Chris December 17th, 2015 at 15:50

You should ask Trump to make this part of his policy positions. Push him on it. I’m sure he’ll get a lot of traction out of this.

Seriously, you Republicans can think of wasting time on more nonstarters than anyone. How about voting to upend Obamacare again? Yeah!!!!!

    • Gina Bousquet December 17th, 2015 at 16:18

There’s this absolutely obvious answer every government on earth knows for your question. At the same prime age men are expected to register to serve their country in the eventuality of being drafted, women are in their best reproductive years, a capability no nation disregards, as they usually prize the bearing of future generations.

      • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 19:06

Mr. Trump takes 81 mg of aspirin daily and a low dose of a statin (for high cholesterol).

    • WYNEMA GONZAGOWSKI December 17th, 2015 at 19:07

Indeed… If he is prescribed 81mg of aspirin a day it is likely one of two things… He is either having issues with his blood where an aspirin needs to be taken daily to prevent blood clots or he is having heart issues…

This article is trying to pose the question: “Can Trump be Commander-In-Chief since he might have dodged the draft.”

But in posing that question, another is raised: “Can a woman be Commander-in-Chief who was, herself, exempt from the draft.”

And, in turn, another question comes up: “What is the rationale to continue to exempt women from registering under the current Selective Service Act?”

    • highwaterjane60 December 17th, 2015 at 12:14

      that’s good.

    • granpa.usthai December 17th, 2015 at 15:15

kinda immature for 12, I think – more like in the 5 year old range where he’s so proud he can count to 19 with his shoes off.

here’s a little pop quiz for the screaming girlie boys of the donald:

      what’s 1 + 1 = to (hint).

if you guessed 2 (or waited to have your nannie read this to you) – you are correct.

and the secret of the number 2 is that’s exactly how many votes I, and another granma, will be casting for granma POTUS2BHRC come November, 2016.

      • Boltorama December 17th, 2015 at 15:19

LOL yeah I guess 12 was too generous.

        • maggie December 17th, 2015 at 15:28

oooo I just got called a red vagina in french by a con…;) (gun discussions) do you suppose he was calling me a commie hor? ;)

          • Boltorama December 17th, 2015 at 15:31

Conservatives can speak a language other than English? Who would have thunk it? Just ignore him Maggie. They’re losers who have no friends in real life.

      • Victoria December 17th, 2015 at 23:59

The secret of the Number 2 is not a secret: crap is crap!

  14. Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 12:16

Of course, helpless little girls have always been exempted from the draft, so Hillary never went through a draft physical. But that raises a question as to whether any woman who has never registered for the draft or ever served in the military has a moral right to be America’s Commander-in-Chief.

And then there’s the question about Hillary’s health. Trump’s health might have legally exempted him from the draft back in the late 1960s (Hubert Humphrey was exempted from military service during WWII because he was color-blind). But Hillary was just recently hospitalized with a serious medical condition involving the circulation of blood within her brain.

Considering that Hillary and Trump are basically the same age (Trump is about 6 months or so older), do the Democrats really want to bring up the issue of the relative health of Hillary versus Donald?

    • Larry Schmitt December 17th, 2015 at 13:18

One year, four months and twelve days older to be precise. So you’re off by more than 150%.

      • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 14:29

Well, then, I stand corrected, because Trump is much … much older than Witch Hillary.

    • Danny McNabb December 17th, 2015 at 13:45

We liberals are not worried about Donald Trump’s health he is probably very healthy. We are worried about his cowardice in finding a way to avoid military service himself yet he is fine spouting off on how he is willing to send your kids and mine to war if elected.

      • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 14:05

You’re either a bald-faced liar or totally ignorant. Trump is one of the peace-niks. Trump is fine with letting the Russians kill ISIS. Trump wants to deal with Putin. It’s the Democrats old witch, Hillary, who is a neo-con, and the Republican neo-cons, Rubio, Krespie Kreme, Snarly-Carly and JEB!, who are talking about establishing no-fly zones and punching Putin in the nose.

      • granpa.usthai December 17th, 2015 at 15:08

my thoughts exactly. What none of the donald’s screaming girlie boys want to comment on is that William Jefferson Clinton wasn’t elected because he was ranting and raving about America’s superior military power being used to crispy fry anyone who refuses to bow down and worship the republiKon potus as god of the world. the donald can go around making bigass statues of himself for his followers to stick their nose in the crack – but that too will fade away just as fast as the donald’s investigators.

        • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 15:29

I’m a bigger man than you anytime, anywhere. You little sissies need a safe space–a blanky where you can suck your thumbs and pretend that all the right-thinking people are with you. You’d better hope I and my people win in 2016, because we are through of putting up with you g.d. scum. If the old witch steals the election in 2016, it comes down to blood. There is no way in hell we will stand for another 4 years of prog-dem stupidity.

          • Chris December 17th, 2015 at 15:43

            Translation:

“If the GOP loses the presidency through the democratic process for the third time in a row, we Republicans will stamp our feet and threaten secession, showing that we have no respect at all for the Constitution.

“Of course, we would never actually secede because that would interfere with watching ‘Dancing With The Stars.”

            FIFY.

          • Gina Bousquet December 17th, 2015 at 16:10

Hate speech is not enough, you need to spew threats… She won’t need to steal anything , she’ll win. And if you want blood , well, she’ll be the Commander-in-Chief, the Forces will take care of that I’m sure.

          • WYNEMA GONZAGOWSKI December 17th, 2015 at 19:03

Nice threats… You show a PRIME example of why Trump and his minions should NOT be allowed to win…

          • arc99 December 17th, 2015 at 20:50

            Bring it a$$hole.

If you are truly stupid enough to believe that we leftists cannot or will not protect our families against domestic terrorists like you, all the better.

This gun owning liberal protects his family from un Amerian right wing scum like you.

          • Joe Blow December 17th, 2015 at 20:11

Bring it on, you Polish joke

      • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 15:21

Deal with the truth, Obamoron. You can remove my post; but you can’t shut down the Trump movement:

You’re either a bald-faced liar or totally ignorant. Trump is one of the peace-niks. Trump is fine with letting the Russians kill ISIS. Trump wants to deal with Putin. It’s the Democrats old witch, Hillary, who is a neo-con, and the Republican neo-cons, Rubio, Krespie Kreme, Snarly-Carly and JEB!, who are talking about establishing no-fly zones and punching Putin in the nose.

        • Chris December 17th, 2015 at 15:39

We may not be able to shut down the Trump movement.

          But Imodium can.

        • BCD88 December 17th, 2015 at 18:43

Nobody wants to shut down the Trump movement. It is the Democrat’s dream come true. He will make sure either Bernie or Hillary get elected!

        • WYNEMA GONZAGOWSKI December 17th, 2015 at 19:01

So basically you are fine with someone who bankrupted 4 companies and gave away 1/2 interest in each of them running the country… Interesting. Not just that though, so much more that he has said and done..> And it has nothing to do with me being PC, I am far from that…. It has to do with allowing an OBVIOUS megalomaniac to hold the highest office in this country!!! A man who has openly admitted he won’t follow law or protocol!!!

          • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 19:04

He didn’t compromise our national security. He didn’t hang up the phone and go to bed when that 2 a.m. call came in.

            • WYNEMA GONZAGOWSKI December 18th, 2015 at 03:57

So, I am correct… Thank you for making that clear… Oh yes, just so you know, I am also not a Clinton fan… I am however a fan of facts and the facts are that neither is fit to run this country…

          • Ancient Avian Anomaly December 18th, 2015 at 07:36

It’s remarkable how the four bankruptcies never seem to merit any mention while Trump is busy blowing his own horn.

            • WYNEMA GONZAGOWSKI December 18th, 2015 at 16:30

              Indeed…

        • Julie G December 17th, 2015 at 20:43

Old witch old witch old witch. You need to get some new material, woman hater.

    • Bunya December 17th, 2015 at 15:33

Why not? Dubya never “served” in the military. And one of our most embarrassing presidents was a third-rate actor starring in blockbusters such as “Bonzo Goes to College”.
      .
And we’re not questioning Trump’s health. We just find it extremely coincidental that Trump’s in perfect health – except for the day he went for his draft physical. Kinda reminds me of how Dick Cheney always had some excuse to avoid serving in the military.

    • Chris December 17th, 2015 at 15:38

Who was comparing Hillary’s health to Trump’s? You brought this up out of thin air.

Everyone was laughing about Trump’s physician and his over-the-top comments. Again, YOU were the one bringing it up. Nobody else.

And, BTW, attacking 1/2 the population as being “helpless little girls” reveals your misogyny. This is a classic example of why the GOP, in its never-ending quest to insult everyone not old, white and male, is going to lose again next November.

    • granpa.usthai December 17th, 2015 at 15:39

it’s a lot easier for blood to circulate through the cranial cavity when there’s no mass involved.

then again, the USA usually elects (unless it’s a selected republiKon) a VP, just in case of an emergency. All we’ve seen on the donald’s side is a Melanija Knavs Trump. A little Sevnica Slovenian zat speaks mit a hokey zick zerman AK-sent, whereas, most of US already know what a perfect First Gentleman POTUS Willie will be (seeing as to how he’ll only be allowed to enter the Oval Office at the expressed invitation of POTUS2BHRC and always under surveillance by those selected by POTUS2BHRC).

  15. granpa.usthai December 17th, 2015 at 14:36

astonishing that anyone could have fought back and overcome such a genetic blip. He must truly be the world’s healthiest COWARD. (possibly afflicted with the Nugent oopsie syndrome).

as for the ‘golf scenario’ …

most likely it would be the donald boy on hands and knees (whimpering like a little puppy being abused) as – he is in better health – and of course, not really brave enough to say no to someone as tough as His Impotence.

    • Alek Kolchak December 17th, 2015 at 15:32

If your old witch steals the 2016 election, you have the opportunity gramps to show us how brave you are.

  16. Charles Glisson December 17th, 2015 at 15:09

Thanks Alan, for that Info, I took that question straight to Trump Himself, on his OWN FB Page

  17. DrLearnALot December 17th, 2015 at 16:10

He has a pretty big butt. And he’s always talking out of it. That can’t be healthy.

  18. Suzanne McFly December 17th, 2015 at 18:22

And he so badly wished he served. Hell, he almost did serve in his military prep schools, hell they were even harder than the actual military. He must of had a good reason not to serve, maybe it is so good it is top secret.

    • Bob Papadazzio December 17th, 2015 at 18:53

If he had served you’d probably be here calling him a baby killer instead.

      • Suzanne McFly December 17th, 2015 at 18:58

        Dipshit says what?!?!?!?!

        • Bob Papadazzio December 26th, 2015 at 19:19

I don’t know. Perhaps you could enlighten, as you’re clearly more an expert than I am.

      • tracey marie December 17th, 2015 at 19:14

a new troll from somewhere in europe…who gives a fck what you think

        • Bob Papadazzio December 23rd, 2015 at 16:34

A xenophobe from the US. I take it you’re a Trump supporter?

          • bpollen December 24th, 2015 at 03:20

You intuited xenophobia! That’s amazing! Not only are you obscure, opaque, and – ahem – deeeep, you are able to determine that somebody you have never met nor seen nor actually conversed with suffers from phobias. And also you can determine that somebody is a Trump supporter just because you were labeled a European troll.

Is there no limit to your awesome powers? You’re like a Keith Ablow that makes obscure statements in a semblance of profundity!

            • Bob Papadazzio December 26th, 2015 at 19:23

Intuited? Actually, no. When someone throws in where you’re from with the implication that it controls your opinion, that is fairly apparent xenophobia clearly illustrated… at least to people who can… you know… read.

              But, again, do continue.

              • bpollen December 28th, 2015 at 01:22

Since Texans are from the same culture and country, it’s not xenophobia. Xenophobia is “intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries.” Unless you a positing that Texas is a separate country. In which case, you also are wrong.

You DO continue to be wrong. Got a streak going, eh?

      • bpollen December 18th, 2015 at 04:52

So you are saying that if Trump served, he’d kill babies?

Well, if you can’t trust what a Trump drone says, who can ya trust?

        • Bob Papadazzio December 23rd, 2015 at 16:34

No, that was actually more a commentary on how Vietnam vets don’t get the same respect as, say, WW2 vets.
          But please, do continue.

          • bpollen December 24th, 2015 at 03:11

But thankfully you made your point wonderfully opaque.

How could I have not seen that it was a comment about, say, WWII, when you said that if Trump had served, he wouldn’t have gotten the respect as, say, WWII vets. Since you never mentioned ‘Nam, never mentioned WWII, never mentioned respect. How could I not see what you never mentioned was the actual intent or your post. My bad – I should be able to freakin’ intuit what you intended.

But please, continue with your apparent non-sequiturs that you, post facto, imbue with great meaning. That took you nearly a week to come up with. It’s tap-dancing, but exceptionally SLOW tap-dancing.

            • Bob Papadazzio December 26th, 2015 at 19:19

Apparent non-sequiturs? You mean like assuming someone is a Trump supporter because they make a comment about the difference in attitudes regarding war vets?

Again… do continue. This is entertaining.

              • bpollen December 28th, 2015 at 01:24

That’s not a non-sequitur. You are talking about an assumption. A non-sequitur is an entirely different animal. But this one you can look up for yourself. Two posts, two misused words to make points the words don’t support.

                Still wrong.

    • burqa December 18th, 2015 at 21:30

Easy now…….after all, Trump had a big box of little plastic army men and a half dozen GI Joes………………..and he saw “Pork Chop Hill” at least 10 times….

    • Lawrence Vasquez September 12th, 2016 at 14:23

I’m sure he has a lot of really good reasons, and they are probably the “best” reasons. It’s what he has “reasons”, and he has them better than anybody.

  19. pdquick December 17th, 2015 at 18:51

I’m still wondering why he’s on aspirin and a statin if all his labs were “astonishingly excellent.”

    • Victoria December 17th, 2015 at 23:50

At-risk for heart issues and high cholesterol count?

      • pdquick December 19th, 2015 at 04:54

Based on what, if his labs were “astonishingly excellent”?

It doesn’t add up. The doctor has a credibility problem. If he thinks the patient is at high enough risk of a heart attack to justify having him on an aspirin and statin, maybe he should tell us why.

        • Chris H December 19th, 2015 at 07:12

They try to put EVERYONE over 50 on statin and aspirin for the rest of their lives. That way the drug companies get their guaranteed income from millions of people every day. Not defending Trump, he’s a draft dodging hypocrite, just sayin…

      • itsallgood4me May 8th, 2016 at 17:10

Any of you draftees ever got a blood test during the physical ????????? One thing for sure ,if you showed up with two feet ,two hands ,two eyes and could carry a gun ,they didn’t give a damn about cholesterol or any future medical risk ! They knew that you could be killed ,long before any future medical risk ,ever caused a problem !!!!!!

  20. Roctuna December 17th, 2015 at 18:52

In those day they gave a 2S deferment to draft-aged men who went straight from hs to college and maintained a C average. I think that ended in 1971 or ’72. He may have had a 2S draft status. Not that I’m making any excuses for Herr Trump.

    • imageWIS December 17th, 2015 at 18:56

      That’s Amerika-Reichsführer Trump to you!

      • Joe Blow December 17th, 2015 at 20:07

The Reichsfuhrer was Heinrich Himmler, the analogue of whom would be Ted Cruz. Ted, as VP, would report to Der Fuhrer, that’s Der Donald!

        • itsallgood4me May 8th, 2016 at 17:06

Sad to say but you have made some frightening but true points ! The same kinds of people, who went for hitler’s line of racist bulls-it ,are the ones who are suckin on trump’s line of bulls-it !!!!!!!! The klan speaks so highly of trump ,its almost as if they think, that he is one of them !…..????????????????????

    • tracey marie December 17th, 2015 at 19:11

No, he even said it was for a painful bone spur

      • Roctuna December 17th, 2015 at 20:15

        Ouch. Poor baby

      • Julie G December 17th, 2015 at 20:32

And he couldn’t remember which foot…

      • Victoria December 17th, 2015 at 23:49

You mean it was on a foot and not his head?

        • Robert Kennedy December 19th, 2015 at 14:35

Well, he’s in good company. Rushbo had a cyst on his butt and avoided serving. OTOH, Randi Rhodes had the same thing and became the Air Force serviceman (servicewoman) of the year.) The difference between liberals and conservatives in a sentence.

    • Cathy Young December 19th, 2015 at 20:20

He may have had a rich daddy too
