Defiant Sheriff: If You Don’t Like ‘Merry Christmas’ And ‘God’…’LEAVE!’

Posted by | November 25, 2015 15:55 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

A Harris County, Georgia, welcoming sign isn’t so welcoming with its defiant words and unnecessary tone.

“WARNING: Harris County is politically incorrect,” reads the sign posted on Tuesday under a welcome banner and the official seal of the county, located in central Georgia near the border with Alabama.

“We say: Merry Christmas, God Bless America and In God We Trust. We salute our troops and our flag,” says the sign placed in front of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. “If this offends you … LEAVE!”

Sheriff Mike Jolley said the concept was suggested by his staff members, who “saw the verbiage on the Internet somewhere.”

The elected sheriff, a U.S. Army retiree who has been in the position for 23 years, personally paid for the $553 sign, which includes an image of the county’s official seal.

“I believe it’s time for the silent majority to speak their minds,” Jolley told Reuters on Wednesday in a phone interview.

    1) So, “Merry Christmas” is political correctness in this town.

    2) Are they the “Merry Christmas” Nazis? Will they have brown shirts enforcing it?

    3) What about the merchants who started saying “Happy Holidays” because the holiday selling season starts with Halloween and ends with Valentines Day.

    4) Will they outlaw Christmas decorations like giant presents in the hands of giant Scooby doos and Bart Simpsons with Santa hats?

    5) Why would we think that this guy knows anything about “God”?
Perhaps he’s from the other end.

It seems this publicly sanctioned sign whose purpose is to impose unconstitutional authority over those who may not agree or believe would be illegal.

It’s design and purpose is solely to offend.

you’re absolutely right. and it’s so disgusting.

If I lived there, here is what my sign would say

This household is not politically correct
I say Happy Holidays so that I can extend a friendly greeting to everyone regardless of their specific religious beliefs. I do not recite empty platitudes about your gods and goddesses or anyone else’s gods and goddesses. I salute our troops by doing everything I can to elect leaders who will not get them killed in pointless wars for weapons that do not exist.

If any of this offends you, get the f*ck off my lawn, and Happy Holidays..

“I believe it’s time for the silent majority to speak their minds,” Jolley told Reuters”

I think it’s time for the ACLU to make that sign of his far more costly than $553 to this goosestepping jackwagon.

It requires additional signage identifying the source of the intolerant ignorance and the filing of a lawsuit.

American citizen to sheriff “kiss my a$$”

Lemme guess — if you visit the town and greet people with “Happy Kwanzaa”, wear a T-shirt promoting atheism, or look and behave in a way that suggests you might be a Muslim, local residents and members of law enforcement will consider it their civic and patriotic duty to attack you with bats and billy clubs.
